New land, new people, same old luck

He stopped ‘foolishness never stops us if we believe we’re right’. Eizen covered his mouth stifling a laugh, that definitely improved his mood. He didn’t know much about this girl or ‘Fairy tail’ or whatever but he could respect that motto. After all it was the same as his captains.
It was pretty impressive how fast the scenery could change in this city, and how massive it was. The once nice and clean streets were already degrading, the buildings weren’t too shabby but in the distance it was pretty obviously worse the deeper you went.
“When I was a teenager I was alone on a mountain killing demons to protect me…” He pauses almost mentioning his sister. The last time people found out about his sister it was used against him in an attempt on his life. He didn’t know anyone here, as earnest and nice as this Mirajane seemed… “And the other stray spirits there occasionally.” He cleared his throat after the awkward add-on. “Point being I have no idea but, I do know how people like this operate, shouldn’t take long. We see eye-to-eye.”
He motioned for Mirajane to stay behind, approaching the closest group of shady-looking people on the corner, individual people had given him a wide berth. They were pretty intent on ignoring him, he fixed this quickly by front-kicking the closest one into a wall. The other two in the group got angry, reasonably, starting to yell at him. Eizen yelled back for awhile- it soon changed into laughter and they were patting each others backs. A few minutes later Eizen returned, seemingly indifferent to what just happened.
“Anyways, it seems like a kid ran by here. Met up with another group of kids. Moved a few blocks down around the corner, there’s an abandoned grocery store. Also I told them you’d pay them some money, something like two hundred dollars, whatever those are.”
A snowy brow was raised as he laughed, not quite the sound she had expected from a man that seemed quite serious. She liked it.
The mention of demons hit close to home yet she remained quiet as he spoke, resisting the urge to place a hand on his arm to comfort him. The mage, being the oldest of three siblings herself, suspected he was holding something back but she didn’t push or pry, though she knew how it felt to have her siblings used against her.
A small nod and she waited, scanning the area for any sign of their target, her eyes eventually falling back on him as he spoke with the group, wondering how a man that had lived such a life on a mountain had learned to deal with some of societies worst. Though the kick certainly confirmed he had fought from a young age.
She just hoped he wouldn’t be as violent with the kid if they found her.
“Two hundred dollars? I...I don’t have that kind of money on me.” She looked past him at the group. She really didn’t see why she should have to pay for the information the received.
toxicant:
“Sensed. Scent has a powerful memory, after all.” That and their senses are a keen thing, able to focus on near everything, even if it becomes overwhelming. Sesshomaru just takes advantage of it for now. There will be other times to deal with that.
A hum. “Meat with a strong scent will do nicely.”
“Like Natsu..” She thought aloud. All the dragon slayers if she was honest, they had heightened senses that put her demonic form to shame. Actually, the more she thought about it, she hadn’t crossed paths with any demons that had such impressive abilities.
“May I ask you a question?” She asked, taking a step closer to them, her quest to find the cat momentarily forgotten.
grexsemxnkcy:
Oh, “Eh, probably…….probably not. Who knows,” She shrugs. More than likely perhaps the creature could’ve been anything, but Deborah isn’t going to think too deep into it. Funny, because if her parents heard her talking about it like this, they wouldn’t agree. They wouldn’t be upset though, she’d like to think at least.
“MM?” Something on her mind? Greyblue eyes looks back down at the bench she’s seated on, “Other than me being hungry? Nah.” That is the truth. She hasn’t eaten since early, early afternoon. BUT who’s fault is that!?
“Y’know of any good places to eat?” Please say yes.
It had been a silly thought on Mirajane’s part, she had seen evil men turn into worse, some might even say that she was far worse than any devil could be - yet she was sure a legless lizard was a slow worm, not a snake. Oh well.
“Lucky for you, I know a great place not to far from here~”
Mirajane chirped brightly, though perhaps it would have been a better idea to ask the other woman what type of food she enjoyed.
“I hope you like sweet things, the owner makes amazing desserts.” If not, she knew a few places that sold varied cuisine.
sparklingemeraldidol:
There were shops in this city that sold things from his world? He made a mental note to find these shops and stock up on things.
“Well now you know why~” he said. “Though I am curious: Did you like our music?” Assuming that she had listened to the CD and not simply glanced the cover. Though even if she did Reiji didn’t mind; the fact that she recognized him was more than enough.
“Well I write my own lyrics, though we normally have a composer who writes the songs.” That’s how it tended to work in the idol industry. There was one person who composed the song while the idol or group wrote the lyrics for it.
“I confess, I never got the chance to listen to it. I was picking up my guitar.” Though upon meeting him, she made a note to go back and buy the cd, though she still wasn’t quite tech-savvy, she was determined to learn.
“I see. It must be fun working with like-minded people.” It was the same working in a mage guild, everyone had similar interests and the bond of magic, made even hard jobs were more enjoyable.

hellsouled liked your post “Boy, oh boy, here’s a starter call~! If you want something plotted…”
Why is he soaked and wet? It wasn’t even raining outside. “Rule number one, don’t go into the ocean. It’s PRETTTTTTTYYYYY cold.” Not that it bothered me, considering his body temperature always ran hot…BUT it’s that initial shock where when you go into hot water first and THEN cold water.
Mirajane had only recently been aware of the beach that had been ‘added’ to the city, yet the idea of anyone going for a swim with the weather still on the chilly side was crazy.
“It’s not quite the weather to go swimming, that’s for sure.” Though the more devilish part of her wasn’t complaining. “I could fetch you a towel if you need one?”
Having recently started working on reopening the spa that used to belong to her old boss, Mirajane had plenty of towels.
shuren-sama:
“Partially. I more or less do not understand why you would bother with something so obviously pointless.”
“It’s not pointless to me. I think everyone should have at least one person who worries about them.”
anghexescu:
“I don’t mind. I usually don’t eat for a bit.” And that’s a bad habit of his, but he can’t help it if he’s not hungry. “I do insist,” And he does, if she’s hungry right now she should eat, it’s always not the greatest thing to do when you’re hungry and you post-pone eating. “Ah,” Maybe he shouldn’t know? But she doesn’t seem at all angry or annoyed about it. He nods, “Yes. It’s the presence.”
“Well, if you’re sure.” Gratefully she took the sandwich half he had offered her. Before unwrapping it, she addressed his comment. “Presence? Perhaps you can sense my magic.” Rather than annoyed, she was curious, not many people had picked up on her powers during any of her stay sin the city. “I’m Mirajane.”

They looked worse than they were, that was for sure— but Remy was also the kind of man who would still make jokes while he was on the verge of death. But, none the less, he had felt worse. This was nothing. He just needed… To get his head back together and he would be fine.
He takes the offer she extends of her hand, running a hand through his hair for a moment— it he was a target, it wouldn’t surprise him. He had that kind of luck, didn’t he? How awful. “Sleep’ll come later– got lotta things t’look into later, anyhow.” He was more of a night owl anyways, there was lots of time to burn still. But…
“Well— I s’pose I can’t turn turn down an offer fo’ coffee from a pretty late.” He was about to flash her a smile, but he hissed suddenly, clutching his side for a moment. Nope. Sore. Easy there, LeBeau. “Mm, maybe. If I was, it ain’t no big deal. I deserved it.” All the money he had right now wasn’t even his own, anyway…
As he stood, it was the first time she had had a clear view of his eyes. They were startling, even for someone who came from a world filled with things other residents would never believe could exist.
She took a small step forward, ready to support him should he have stumbled. “Perhaps we should get you to a doctor instead..” Despite never having laid eyes on him before, her concern was clear. She was no healer, but she was pretty sure that pain when standing was not a good sign.
“I don’t think any one deserves to be beaten and robbed.” Perhaps it was just the way she had been raised, karma was not something she believed in. She also believed everyone had good inside them, a person’s bad choices did not necessarily mean they were bad.

“It’s unwise to trust any old magic shop you see. Just last week I was tricked into buying explosive ritual candles from a street vendor! Ah, what a great trick…” Henry still had the cast to show for it, after jumping out of his window to escape the flames.
“But if you do know of any trustworthy merchants, I’ll gladly follow you!”
He stepped closer to her without reserve, and without being bothered by the fresh cast on his leg, holding out his hand for her to shake.
“I’m Henry, from Plegia. Pleased to meet you!”
“Oh goodness!” His story shocked her, yet really it wasn’t surprising that there were those in the city who tried to make a quick buck at the expense of others. Mirajane was pleasantly surprised how able he was on his cast, yet the idea of such an injury being caused by someone claiming to have connections to magic irked her.
“I may know one or two.”
She slipped her hand into his with a bright smile.
“I’m Mirajane, it’s nice to meet you too.”
gxrdianofsxlence:
“That’s true…I just hope that we can live in peace more often.”
“Unfortunately, I don’t think peace can ever be eternal. People are too different from each other. Still, it is important to remain hopeful for such a thing, perhaps one day, there will be no need for war.”
theeternalartist:
“I have a pretty good memory when it comes to those that’s left an impression, good or bad. I’ll leave it up to you to figure it out,” he would respond before shaking his head. “But it doesn’t matter. Welcome back… I guess.”
“Oh my, I hope it was a good impression.” Then again, Mira knew her personality could rub people up the wrong way sometimes, more so when they were introverted like he was. “Thank you.” She wished she could say it was good to be back, but she couldn’t.
“How have you been?”

@hellsouled liked your post “Eiji is going to reach out to the kids or those with a sweet tooth. …”
Chocolate lava cake on a shiny plate of fake gold, with the occasional cream on top. It was… a start. expanding to dessert is hard work when you had weeks to learn all the stops and attend crash courses.
“So, try it. You seem to be a expert on this sort of thing.“
Looking at the creation, it almost seemed a shame to destroy it, yet the smell of warm chocolate that curled from it was simply too enticing. Mirajane may not have been a dessert connoisseur like Erza, but having spent many a year stealing her red-haired nakama’s treats, she had a pretty good idea what was good.
Loading her fork with a combination of all the elements, pleased to see the centre ooze out, she tasted.
“It’s great!” She beamed, unable to stop herself taking another bite. “I always overcook the middle!”

“Look, I’m sure whatever you think I’m gonna care about is really important to you or whatever, but I have work to get to? And clothes aren’t gonna sew themselves so… I dunno, get a move on or something, alright?”
“I’m sorry to bother you,” Mirajane apologised, yet her smile never faded, in no way phased by the young woman’s outburst. “I was just wondering if you would like a leaflet for a local bar, the owner makes wonderful desserts.”
sparklingemeraldidol:
“It takes a bit to get thinking like that, though it is better than the alternative.” Which he found himself going to at times. While it did take him a while to look at things with the glass half full, it served him better than dwelling on what he should have done. At least for most days.
Reiji couldn’t help but nod at her words. Many days he often took Quartet Night for granted instead of being thankful that he was a part of a group of four again.
At the mention of magic and family, Reiji became interested. “Oh? How so?”
“I will have to keep it in mind next time I am feeling melancholy.”
Mirajane lowered her eyes, a soft yet sad smile upon her lips. “After my parents died, a demon attacked our village...when I crossed paths with it, my magic - take over...activated. I absorbed the demon’s power. As a result, I was chased out of the village with my siblings.”
“It was then we joined Fairy Tail and found our true family.”
thiefguild:
“Doin’ alright,” he says, though the way he brings his mug to his lips for much too long is a bit contradictory. he wipes his mouth on his sleeve and continues. “I mean, I’m kinda conflicted. I’ve got some important shit happening back home, but…My girlfriend is here and I love her.”
it was the never-ending problem. he was happy back home, but he was also happy in the city–mostly. he always thought it was cruel how he couldn’t have both.
“But–!” he hoists his drink in the air, jostling whatever liquid was left inside. “Not much I can really do about it, so it’s no use worrying over.” at least not outwardly; he’d be consumed by it for a while.
As he spoke, she played with another mallow.
“I can understand how you feel. I think many people find it hard when it comes down to it. I’m lucky this time, my world is in peace,” for now at least, “but before, I wanted to go home and protect my loved ones, yet are the same time, I didn’t want to lose the people I came to love here.”
“You’re right, we can only make the best of our time here. ” Though she knew it was never that easy.
“How did you meet your girlfriend~?” She asked, never one to pass up the opportunity to talk about other peoples love lives.

The clash of blades rang across the grounds as Itachi trained on his own with the aide of a shadow clone. Running across a river, the Uchiha would be blocking several weapons with a kunai before launching the kunai to the hidden target that had placed himself behind him. A simple training to help him with stamina which was his biggest issue. So far, he was finding improvement, but he was also needing to learn to save his steps and make every action count. He needed to step even further…
“……” Silence as he turned his attention to the voice that spoke out to him. Seeing a familiar flow of silver hair, the Uchiha could not almost believe who he was seeing. He was use to people coming and going, but he couldn’t help but be surprised each time one was to return. “Mirajane… It’s been quite awhile,” he spoke calmly as he would move himself back to land to approach the other. “And cheerful as ever, too. I’m glad.”
He really was skilled, it was easy to get lost in the moment as she watched him. It even crossed her mind that he would be able to hold his own against Erza, maybe even herself if they were to spar.
“It’s been a while, hasn’t it.”
She certainly was cheerful, she had many reasons to be thankful despite being back in the city. Though many people had left since her last time, many were still there and safe - not to mention the war was over and Acnologia was destroyed. She had left her world in peace which meant a great deal.
“Are you hungry?” She asked, holding up the bag.
