reminder that in s1 Alastor realized he was going to die in his fight with Adam so he dissolved into shadows to escape, but in s2 when he realized Vox was about to pull a murder suicide with the Might of Lilith pointed straight at him he stayed exactly where he was with a look that almost translated into I Dare You to Do it. Look at it how you wish, mr self-preservation Alastor was ready to die with Vox.
A mouth-watering fuck-ton of hand angle references.

i'm sorry if you mind my asking, but do you know any good tutorials/references for drawing chubby guys? I have a lot of problems with where the stomach and hips meet, especially with the butt in a 3/4 view. I want to draw more guys, but I'm a transman so all my distributions physically are female and I can't even use myself as a good vague ref for male figure studies. Again sorry for asking and anon, I'm just shy and you're really good at it, I thought you may know.
First of all, im really sorry for letting you wait so long and for taking so long to answer.
I usually forget to draw the butt because it tends to blend in into the hip in my style. But i can take a swing at it for you! (I’ll try to keep pronouns in mind, but if i forget any im sorry.)
First things first: Male anatomy tends to be a bit stockier when drawn chubby or big. Of course it defers on what you want to draw, but here’s something to keep in mind: the legs are pillars to support the butt. Meaning that if gravity pulls donw on the butt you get sort of a little nidge on the back end. Especially if you’re a lil bigger.
If you want to define the butt in a drawing without merging it with the leg there’s one simple thing to do.Add that third bump. Two bumps for leg and one extra for the butt. Trust me it works. I don’t draw it often, but when you need to draw a butt (everyone needs to) three bumps help a ton. If you want to highlight a ¾ angle, take note to the top right image. The leg is in front of the butt-bump. Meaning it’s gota butt, and it’s there, butt it’s in perspective and all that. (im sorry i can’t be more descriptive)
Mostly you should just experiment more with this. Use the three bumps. Think about attaching a butt on a pillar and you should be fine. If you have more questions, please message me off anon. I’d love to help <3
I’m running an Introductory Animation Workshop with creative arts students this Saturday (August 20, 2016) for The School of Creative Arts Open Day at Melbourne Polytechnic’s Prahran Campus. I’ve rotoscoped and broken down some of the greatest dance gifs to their basic poses and we’re going to collaboratively design characters then MAKE THEM DANCE!!
Come down, check out the campus and say HI!
I can’t wait to see the weird animated goofs that result from this workshop, I’ll post them in a couple of days so we can all be in awe of their hilarious spontaneity!
I need this.

do you ever just
“no that’s not dramatic and cheesy enough”

i love this but i dont know how to do this
hoW
For those wondering about HOW to do this, here’s a short explanation according to me:
Drawing A to Drawing B: -the most obvious change is the exaggeration of the line of motion in the character.
In Drawing B the line of motion is much more pronounced, creating more drama and movement to the whole composition
-The arms are open wider, showing more confidence and exuberance in the character, exaggerating their emotions so they can be more clearly read without having to look to the face for emotional cues.
-the legs are wider apart, adding to the aforementioned confidence but also giving the character a solid foundation, visually speaking.
-The head is tilted back and overlapped by the chest, adding a touch of dynamic perspective to the drawing.
Drawing B to Drawing C: -Most obvious change is to zoom in on the character. Character framing is just as important as what the character is doing. Zooming in can help infensify emotions. this shot is ALL about this character and what they’re feeling. -Because of the zooming in, the arms/hands would have gotten lost, so instead of making the canvas wider, the artist has elected to rotate the character slightly, bringing a dynamic angle to things and more intensity to the close shot. -While the character is more upright in this shot compared to Drawing B, in Drawing C the chest still slightly overlaps the neck, preserving the feeling of being slightly below the character (putting them in a position of power relative to the viewer), which helps maintain confidence and power in the character. -the chest is exaggerated to carry the majority of the body’s line of action so even though you cannot see the legs, our brains are able to fill in the gap and envision that line of action. -The cropping/framing of the character allows for a more interesting composition/negative shapes created by the positive (character) on the negative (background), creating more visual interest as well as a circular motion to the composition through the arms, across the face to the negative space for the eyes to rest in before dropping to the hand in the background and back through the composition again.
DID YOU DISSECT MY DRAWING TO FIND OUT WHY IT WORKS?? I LOVE YOU. I LOVE YOU. THANK YOU SO MUCH
How about tips on how to do body hair? I found your other tips really helpful so maybe you could assist me with a huge problem if mine haha
Of course, so when I draw body hair I like to think of waves flowing in directions. Hair growing patterns vary and may appear thicker or thinner in specific areas. Also keep in mind that hair strands can overlap more so towards the outlined edge of the skin.
-Here’s a small example of how I like to just draw the flow of hair on a male.
Anyway, I hope I didn’t confuse you with this. There’s not much more I can say other than looking at references online and really analyzing how hair growth works. Goodluck! :)
Hey so what the fuck do you mean Amir implied Alastor cried after the Radiostatic falling out. Excuse me. What the FUCK do you mean
"Welcome to a voyage of discovery and awareness!"
A extra special birthday present for the my lovely friend, @hellaverseangel <3 Taken from a scene from the fic Happily Ever After, Alastor is slowly learning to appreciate Vox's love of all things Disney. Give it a read if you haven't guys, it's such a good time.
Cheers! And Happy Birthday again!!
