Since we love comics and Superman, we’re thrilled to have @/kariiudo_ working on a piece that has both!
Satoshi’s art features lovely line work and will give us a look into our Superman’s origins, which we’re very excited for you all to see. We’re very proud of all their hard work!
There is no longer a safe place for families in Gaza.
Please consider donating to my friend Hamza, his family is suffering as they struggle with health issues and malnutrition. If you have the resources to help them, it would mean a lot to them. His fundraiser is here.

HI TAY 👋
Oh hey, it's Skype a Scientist again, here to fund science education projects with COOL ART.
Introducing SHRIMP CITY!
Look cool as hell in while talking about shrimp science with your friends.
For example: 🦐 Mantis Shrimp (who punch so fast they create pressure voids in the water that collapse to produce shockwaves, heat, and even a flash of light!) 🦐 Pistol Shrimp (Instead of a punch, pistol shrimp create their shockwaves using the snap of their claws!) 🦐 Hermit Crabs (who aren't "true" crabs, but Shrimp City is an inclusive town) 🦐Yeti Crabs (who live in Shrimp City's sister city, Hydrothermal Ventopolis, where they grow bacteria on their hairy arms that they lick off for a snack!) 🦐 Insects (who are not shrimps per se, but did you know recent research suggests that insects group with the crustaceans?? You may have heard that shrimps is bugs, but nay… bugs is shrimp).
These shirts were designed by Philly designer The 666 Cat!
What kind of science education are you funding by buying a shirt, you ask? Well, lots of stuff, but here's a recent example:
Here's a mural all about local biodiversity that we painted in collaboration with a Philly public elementary school with local artist NDA!
We got the kids from the school to help us paint it and everything! These projects are educational and cute as hell.
So hey. Get a shirt <3

Join us for a lesson in ʻŌlelo Hawaiʻi, the indigenous language of Hawai’i. 🌺
'ahi | yellowfin tuna
The ʻahi is a symbol of abundance. Their presence reflects the generosity of the ocean, often watched over by the akua (god) of fishing.
he'e | octopus
For many ʻohana (families), the heʻe is also recognized as an ʻaumakua, an ancestral guardian that offers protection and guidance.
mōlī | Laysan albatross
The Hawaiian mōlī (Laysan albatross) is seen as a messenger, carrying ʻike (knowledge) across great distances.
In Hawaiian culture, many ocean animals are revered as aumakua, ancestral guardians that protect the ‘ohana (family). Their presence is deeply embedded in moʻolelo (stories) and often symbolizes virtues like strength, endurance, and resilience. This profound appreciation represents a spiritual interconnectedness and respect between humans and the sea.
Mahalo (thanks to) Marlo Lualemana (@marlolualemana on IG) for sharing her knowledge and culture.
No matter the words we use, there’s wonder in ocean life, and caring for it helps us all. 🐟🐙🐦
I've been having trouble with insomnia, but despite that, I feel more comfortable drawing at night, although I sometimes have existential crises..
I have a question.. why do you like my art? Did I manage to make you see sharks in a new light?
i've been playing a lot of Coral Island with my wife lately 💙
CONGRATS NANOTYRANNUS FOR FINALLY BECOMING A REAL SPECIES!!! :DDD
I have a sketchbook where I paint one art per piece of media I really enjoyed, and I finished my page for Outer Wilds recently.
I wanted to start sharing some of my traditional art on here - so for anyone curious, some process pics under the cut!

Meet Georgia, our resident fish girl! 🐟🙋♀️
Science was always her path. But in college, Georgia realized she wanted more than a career; she wanted a mission. So she followed what she was passionate about: fish, sharks, and the ocean.
Now, as an education specialist at the Monterey Bay Aquarium, Georgia brings ocean stories to life, helping students and families feel connected and right at home with the sea.
For her, it’s not only what you teach, it’s what people take with them. Whether it’s love for the ocean or something entirely their own, Georgia wants every student to leave knowing their passions matter. Because one moment can turn what you love into something bigger.
What ocean animal has your heart?
