"Next is the flour! Where is the flour actually.." Rachel started looking for the flour with me until I found it behind a few ingredients. I couldn't reach it from here because it had been pushed back a lot.

I yelped and turned around to see none other than Lanyon and a guilty-looking Jekyll. It was fine for them to show affection in the Society since everyone knew and was supportive of our relationship.
"I thought you were some random person. Please, don't scare me like that again." Lanyon just chuckles and kisses my cheek, whispering "You didn't exactly say that last night." Then returned to just chatting with Jekyll. I stood frozen and confused for a good 10 seconds before Jekyll snapped his fingers in my face.
"Earth to Y/N? Are you even listening?" He smiles at me. I sigh and nod. "I heard everything."
I don't think he bought it but he decided to drop the subject.
"Please, come with us Y/N. You've been cooped up in the Society for days now. At least let us take you to the coffeehouse down the road?" Jekyll pleaded. I had been cooped up because I was working on my experiments and helping Rachel. I didn't realize how much missed time I had with them.
"Fine. But only if you pay, I'm quite low on money at the moment." Lanyon nodded.

Jekyll and Lanyon had been eyeing me the entire time I was at the coffeehouse with them.
I set my coffee down and stared at them.
"Say it."
"What do you mean by that?" Jekyll asked.
"You've both been eyeing me the entire time we've been in this place. There's obviously something you'd like to tell me." Lanyon sighs guiltily.
"Well, it's a hard question to ask really. I think we should go somewhere quiet." I nodded and finished my coffee then followed them to our house.
I watched them move around nervously and made sure no one would accidentally overhear us.

I had been sitting in Henry and I's shared house alone for a while, drinking the tea Henry told me was strictly his. It tasted good but I wanted him more. I missed him dearly. Most of the furniture had been sold for the society even though it was the furniture we had brought while getting our first house. This house and the things inside it held memories for me.
It upset me deeply. It seemed that Henry didn't want the life we had planned together.
I wanted to talk to him about it but I was afraid he'd just get angry at me. That had been happening a lot due to his stress.
Henry probably didn't know he wasn't paying enough attention to his wife, it was best to tell him.
I got up, places my cup on the counter by the sink and headed over to the society.
I gently push open the door and go I'm, closing it behind me. The first people to see me were Rachel and Jasper. Those two were dear to my heart, they treated me well.
"Y/N! Oh my gosh, it's been so long! Where have you been?" Rachel jumped up and hugged me close. I missed her hugs.
"I've been at my house but not once have I seen Henry. It's quite strange." Rachel seemed to know this was coming because she let out a guilty sigh.
"Y/N, he keeps pushing everyone away. I was hoping you'd come round, he listens to you." I nodded at the girl and she took me upstairs. Jasper just followed.
I knocked on the door once. Twice. Three times and no reply.

I push the door open slightly and see Henry sitting on the bed we crammed in there. He was facing the wall, a dejected look on his face. I closed the door to prevent Rachel and Jasper listening; they had a habit for that.
I sat by Henry on the bed and that's when he became aware I was in the room.

"No no Sir L/N, I'm having a dinner party and ball later this week at my house and I was wondering if you and your family would care to join us? Any of you can come." Jonathan nods. As we exchange details, I see quite a few heads pop out to see what was going on.
I would just remind myself that I was gonna meet them all properly very soon.
Timeskip
It was the day of my party, everything was going perfectly but I had seen no sightings of Jonathan or his family. Rather than feeling glad like I normally would, I felt disappointed. I had been quite excited to meet the family.
As I was deep in thought, I heard the servants at the door greeting more people.
I instantly make my way over and I see Jonathan, his wife and his kids going through the door. I underestimated how many kids he had. There had to be at least 8 or 9 children.
Schlatt sees my expression and chuckles. "I see you're impressed that we can have multiple children without failure?" I sheepishly nod at the man.
Jonathan and I talked away from the rest of the children.
After a little time, I had realised that I hadn't actually met most of the children from Jonathan's large family.
"Jonathan, I believe that I haven't really had the pleasure to meet your family. May you introduce me?" Jonathan nods and takes me over to where they all sat with their mother and another woman, who's face I couldn't see.
He started introducing me to the children, youngest to oldest. I hadn't met the eldest of the group so far. I had assumed that the lady with her back turned was the final child.
Jonathan puts a proud hand on the woman's shoulder. "This is my eldest and most beautiful daughter, Y/N." The girl turned to look at me and I felt like I had been struck with a bolt of love.
I always thought love by first sight was a lie. I guess I needed to stop lying to myself instead.

After a while, I found her in a corner, talking to Adelia as the young girl giggled and smiled.
I approach the two and Adelia notices me first. "Hey it's the nice man from the door!"
Y/N turned to see me. Her face lit up. "So you were describing Dr Jekyll this whole time?" Adelia playfully smacked Y/N's arm.
I held my hand out towards Y/N. "Miss L/N, would you let me have the honour of being your first dance?" Y/N giggles and holds my hand back.
"Dr Jekyll, I would be delighted to also be your first dance." I felt a blush crawl onto my cheeks as I realised she had been watching me look for her the whole time.
She pats my shoulder and takes me towards the dancefloor, where many men and women staredin jealousy as this beautiful woman and I danced before anyone else could.
I saw Jonathan looking at us with a proud grin on his face. His wife, Victoria, was also watching. Jonathan simply gave me a thumbs up.
After a while of dancing, Y/N dragged me off the dance floor and into the desolate hallway. She then takes us to one of my balconies. I smiled at her "Was there any need to take me out of my own party?" She simply nods and takes her shoes off carefully.
"It was far too hot in that room and if I wear these shoes for another second I'm afraid they'll fall off!" She states dramatically. I laughed with her as we leaned on each other for support.
Y/N was a great person with an even better sense of humour.
"Your father seemed happy, so did your mother. Do you know why?" Y/N nodded. "May I know why?" She pretends to think.
"Give me a good reason I should tell you?" I chuckle at her and respond quickly "Because we're two foolish adults laughing about feet falling off, what shouldn't we tell eachother?" Y/N nodded her head to the side in agreement.
"Well if you must know, I've never really been fond of men. They would have to pay men to offer their love to me but I don't want to fall in love because of money. I want a real love who loves me because they love ME, if that makes any sense." I smile and put a hand on hers which was resting on the stone railing.
"I understand what you mean, Y/N. You wouldn't have to worry about that if you married me though." I teased playfully and nudged her shoulder. She looks me deep in the eyes "I wish you actually meant that."
I stopped for a moment before replying "What if I did?" Y/N stared at me with shock and love laced into her expression. "Then you would be a bit foolish to fall in love with a silly old doctor when you have Earls practically begging for your attention.
She shook her head "I've always liked smarter men anyway. Besides, you're not old. We're both barely in our thirties."
We both hold eye contact for a few moments before leaning in. We both seemed to realise it was far too early for kissing and we awkwardly looked away. "I'm sorry Henry, I'd rather get to know you before doing anything like that." I nod at her decision.
"And I will choose to respect that until you are ready."

I love how great and smoothly the planning is going, it gives me a lot of hope for us and our future.
My family and I are glad I won't be spending eternity alone in this cruel world, I was always quite a lonely child.
The only downside is that Henry kept going into his laboratory to finish up any experiments before our wedding.

Edward constantly telling me to 'be prepared for the worst' had also added to my worry. Hyde had never liked me so I assumed it was him trying to get rid of me again. I decided to let it go and simply think of our future together.
Just us, and probably Hyde. He was alright, I had started to grow fond of the heartless experiment. Maybe one day, we'd have children together. The life I'd always wanted.
I was currently on my way home from a day out with my younger sister. Henry thought it was a good idea since we didn't see each other a lot. She lived in the South West of England while I was in Soho.
I get to our shared Manor and open the front door, hoping to surprise Jekyll by being home early. He thought I was going to my sister's house for tea.
Once I opened the door however, I heard a high pitched giggle from his laboratory. It sounded familiar but I couldn't be too sure. He didn't mention having guests around but he was probably lonely by himself. I decided to ignore it and put the items I had purchased in my own personal office.
Jekyll didn't want me getting hurt so he separated our offices. He may act tough and dominant but he was a massive Softie at heart. I loved this man almost too much.
After I had finished sorting all my shopping into where they belonged, I made my way towards the doors of Henry's laboratory.
Poole noticed this and rushed over, looking guilty.
"I'm very sorry ma'am but Dr Jekyll has requested that you not be let down until he says otherwise." Poole refused eye contact as he spoke. He was hiding something from me but I didn't know what.
I was extremely confused and wanted to press on the subject more to prevent my curiosity and confusion. Sure, Henry liked hiding his experiments sometimes but he'd never deny my entrance to the laboratory. I stared at Poole, hoping for some answers but nothing came from the man.
"Why can't I Poole? Is something the matter?" Poole shook his head. "I cannot say ma'am. I am dearly sorry if you find out though." That scared me a little bit and added to my Paranoia. I was eager to find out and I will find out why Henry's refusing my entrance.
TIMESKIP
It had been about an hour since I was told I couldn't go into the laboratory. I had a gut feeling that something bad was happening.
Since Poole was asleep and the other staff were around other areas, I decided to listen to what's happening in the laboratory. I made my way over to the hallway where the tall, wooden doors stood. Inside was the smartest and most loveable man I knew.
I made my way to the doors quietly and tried to check. The door was ever so slightly opened.
I peeked in a small amount so it was unnoticeable but I could still see.
After a bit of adjusting, I could finally see the whole room. I took a look around then my eyes landed on his work desk.
I wish I never did.
I looked in and I saw Emma Carew kissing Henry Jekyll, the man I was supposed to marry.
I felt my entire body freeze with realisation.
Everybody had been sending me slight hints of the secret affair, even Hyde did.
How could I have been so stupid. I decided to not confront him.
I was going to leave instead. I would let him realise what he had done.
As I was packing some bags I had come to realise that all the 'I love you's were lies and all his kisses meant nothing. I let out a painful sob. I couldn't hold back any longer.
I guess Henry and Emma had noticed because I heard him ushering her out the house before heading upstairs, towards our shared bedroom that would be turned into his own. "Darling is everythi- what on earth are you doing? You didn't mention a holiday." I refused to even look at the man and I continued shoving everything I could in bags. Henry grew impatient.
"When I speak to you, I would like a reply." I still refused. I was tired of him. Igot up, holding my very full bag close. I continued to ignore him and headed downstairs. Henry sighs and follows me. "Darling I don't have time for this. Our dinner is in 30 minutes." I turn to look at him with angry tears flowing down my face.
His face turned from annoyance to concern like he didn't know what he was doing just now that had caused my pain. "Oh my poor Y/N, whatever is the matter?" Henry held my hand, gently rubbing his thumb over my knuckle. I pulled my hand away, surprising the doctor.
"You know exactly what you were doing Jekyll. I saw what you and Carew were doing in your laboratory. I should've listened to Hyde's warning." With that, Henry Jekyll was speechless for once. His face held a look of regret. Tears started to form in his eyes as he tried to figure out what to say.
"My dear, I'm so sorry you had to witness that. Our meetings are purely just because we get rather lonely." I stopped his rambling "You're the one who would leave me alone in the house. You pathetic man. Go marry Emma, I'm sure she pleases you better." With that, I exited the Manor. I felt a wave of sadness hit me but I refused to cry. Not in front of the man who caused this. I wasn't thinking straight at this moment but I had one name on my mind.
Henry Jekyll.
The man I was supposed to marry.
I wish it was still that way. It would've been if it wasn't for Emma Carew.
Now I'm left here alone for eternity in this cruel world.
