Every year that we've run the htp, it has been tradition to have a smaller tree for just one hermit (After an incident in the first year of running where we ended up with far too many Tangos!), and this year, Zombie Cleo came out on top of the vote!

HTP 2025 Announcement!

Hermit Tree Project 2025 Sign-Ups

Tumblr has decided I am no longer allowed to post images from my desktop for some reason, so text post format it is! Let's fill a tree with art!

Each person who takes part will create at least one ornament, based on a hermit, to decorate a massive tree!

How to take part:

Fill in the form linked above

Note: you must have a discord account, as all image submission will be through a discord server.

If you are signing up from Tumblr, please put n/a or x in the instagram handle answer box.

Sign ups will end on the 5th of October.

I will assign your hermit(s) and send you the discord invite on the 11th-12th of October. this will be through Instagram DMs if provided, or from this tumblr account if you don't provide an instagram.

You can start drawing as soon as you receive your hermit.

The final deadline for submissions is the 11th of December, but if you let me know beforehand, I can extend your deadline to the 15th.

If you submit after that, I cannot guarentee it will be on the tree.

I will answer any questions on this post, in my ask box, and there is also an FAQ and Questions channel in the Discord server if you have any further questions once the event as started :)

On the 24th December (christmas eve) I will post the full tree on both this Tumblr account and on the hermittreeproject instagram account.

You can post your own ornaments once the full tree has been posted.

I hope anyone who joins in has fun and enjoys taking part in this fun little festive project.

Yes there is, the sign up period closes on the 6th of october.

Hermit assignment week, where all hermits are assigned and the discord server link is given out runs from the 7th through 15th of October.

The final event deadline, where ornaments must be completed by is the 11th of December, giving people around 2 months to complete their ornament(s).

Do we have to have an Instagram to join in with this?

It would be preferable, just to make it easier to send out messages in one place (doesn't have to be an account that's posted on, I just have to be able to message it with the htp account on Instagram), but if you don't have one, and don't want one, you can sign up just with a Tumblr!

Just type N/A or something clearly identifiable as not a username in the field asking for an Instagram username on the sign up sheet.
