Hello and welcome to the hermitcraft confessions blog!

Run by yours truly: Mod! (They/them please. I like the anonymity.) Use this blog to get something off your chest.

This was inspired by the trafficblr blog so if you'd like you should totally go check them out too. Side note; I don't really understand tags all that well, so if I ever tag something incorrectly, please let me know and I'll do my best to fix it!

Rules and tags below; read before you send in.

Rules:

Keep it on topic.

You may send in nsfw ones but only if they're mild, funny, or the point of your complaint.

Ship related confessions are, of course, acceptable regardless of the typical mixed feelings.

Don't send multiple confessions in one ask.

No biogtry. This includes any jokingly biogted statements. Also, as I, Mod, am only human, if I do post something which contains something that's lgbt+ phobic, racist, etc., please let me know (in a calm manner) so I can remove the post and avoid posting such things in the future.

I reserve the ability to not post your confession if it breaks a rule or I think it will cause too much disruption and/or distress. If things get too heated on a post I will also disable comments or delete it. Similarly, if an ask mentions something, such as an acronym, I do not recognize, I might not be able to accurately determine it's potential for harm. So if I think there's a chance, such as with negative confessions, I won't post it.

You may also send in something you don't want posted. If one ear is enough please say so in your ask. Similarly, if you send in an ask that is NOT anon and you'd like it deleted, you're welcome to make that request.

Do not send asks about specific people who are not ccs. I will NOT be posting about how much you dislike an artist or writer or other community member.

I will not be posting any confessions that describe violence or gore. Please don't make me read that for I am but a soft and fragile little mod okay?

These function as context and also like a tone tag. None of them are inherently bad to have on your confession. It's just a method of catalogging.

I really dislike Grian, and especially how the random treats him.

I find he steals so much light that the other hc and life series ccs deserve.

The fandom doesn’t help either, characters get pulled under the Grian umbrella? Gem, yeah she’s Grian’s sister. Mumbo? You mean that guy whose best friend is Grian? Scar? Desert duo? Impulse or skizz? You mean grians dads?

It’s unfair to everyone else i feel

And, while this a personal thing, I think that some of his bits (fishing in s10, the feathers mcqual suit) wear out to the point it’s not funny or creative anymore.

I know Grian’s done a lot for the fandom but it’s just exhausting seeing all this

i think some people treat the hermits too little like people and too much like characters. guys i need you to check in with yourselves and realize you can have your blorbos and recognize the person behind them as a real person too. you can be unhappy with the way something unfolds in a game but that does not make it at all okay to harass the cc about it, and its important to remember they are real people who change! just because their content has changed over their career does not make it lesser or uninspired. if you dont like it anymore thats fine but dont make it their issue. okay thats all thank you

to preface, this opinion is coming from a trans person

I don't get all the MASSIVE hate on skizz for the trans thing. identities shouldn't be political, yes, but they ARE. there's nothing that can be done about it. it sucks that he didn't accept an opportunity to weed out the transphobes, but it isn't this massive horrible sin for him to say transness is political. (I don't have anything to say about those mods he had, that's it's own thing)

Rendog, makes another hermits-helping-hermits stream weekend and a lot of the hermits on there either don’t stream a lot or have a low viewer average.

I cannot stand Skizz. He just comes across as a man with hidden anger issues that is very ruled by his emotions at the time and puts too much worth in the general public’s opinion, like a classic gamer guy who never had to reconcile with himself in any way. I am not surprised we moved past the trans thing so quickly but like…kind of disappointed. Idk we could at least stop praising him for everything??? And making him an angel? Why is he still seen as such a moral figure when he’s always shouting about something?

i wish martyn was on hermitcraft, he'd have a lot of fun and is very good at interacting with new people. he's very social and would get along with a lot of people, I can see him being friends with nearly everybody on there

i hope this counts on a hermitcraft confession lol/. plus martyn has a lot of lore and is interested in seeing where that takes him. i fear the fans would have a lot of fun adding lore to other people other than grian and his friends into the watcher lore with the addition of martyn and his watcher/listener lore.

i stopped watching around s8 because all the data packs and stuff took a lot of the fun out of the videos for me. i loved the creativity the hermits had with normal vanilla and only light modding (like cleo’s armor stand book) but now it just feels like a whole different game. i miss hermitcraft a lot, been around since s6, but any time i try to pick it up again i just bounce off.

i feel like grian doesnt post alot of hermitcraft anymore and when he does it just kind of feels like hes posting it to post it, not because hes really wanting to share what hes been doing. i think he needs a break like how mumbo took a break. or else i feel like he might burnout

I'll be honest I'm really sick of the favouritism in the fandom and also how clique-y hermitcraft itself feels (which I think is creditable to how the fandom is always revolving around grian and his group(s)). sometimes it feels like the other hermits don't exist to people in this fandom lol

I don't like how quickly people in this fandom jump to conclusions. May just be a little frustrated rn, but for me it takes a lot of bravery to remind someone, even politely, of something, but when it gets taken as a hostile remark or me trying to be aggressive or something it makes me feel really bad. All I did was try to remind someone that even if the ccs look like they're being mean to each other they're still friends? I didn't mean to tell them they couldn't still feel uncomfortable with it (which is how they took it), I've just seen similar things where people have actually thought there was mistreatment going on and tried to prevent that misunderstanding.
