no hate! but what makes u such a staunch dream liker/defender?
unironically, it’s because i do not put him on a pedestal nor do i make him out to be a person of picture perfect morality. there’s no idealized version of him in my head that depicts him as someone who can do no wrong
acknowledging that dream is a human being who makes mistakes is why im not one of those people who are overly paranoid or crash out when he does slip up. i do not necessarily defend every single one of his actions but i will defend his intentions.
in addition to that, dream has proven time and time again that he actually learns from mistakes, grows from them, shows change, and actually listens when people hold him accountable for things - it’s also acknowledging that growth isn’t linear and he will never be perfect
he’s also said and shown that he has good intentions and tries to be a good person, apologizes when it’s necessary, is kind when other people (including myself) wouldn’t be.
it’s so easy (for other people) to find faults in him because he’s been scrutinized since the beginning of his career that we forget that he’s a normal guy like everyone else, he just happens to be a public figure so reactions/perceptions of him are going to be amplified.
tldr: i dont dehumanize him, i dont see him as a character, i don’t idolize him
