Hey here's a reminder that you're allowed to publish unfinished fics and snippets of fics that you're never going to continue and you're allowed to abandon WIPs and you're allowed to orphan unfinished fics and ficlet collections and you never have to finish a single fic if you don't want to.

And there will always be someone who reads that unfinished work and is happy with it and feels glad that they read it even if it's never continued.

You know these random little scenes you sometimes have in your head? You don't have to put them into some grand 100k+ fanfic. Just write them down and post them as is. Like a scrap book. Maybe they inspire someone else. Maybe people like them. Maybe nobody cares. But who cares? You don't have to only post super polished monumental works. And if you only post a new chapter once every year, who cares. This isn't a job. It's a hobby. It's supposed to be fun!

Okay but I get this. All of you worms who have things blocked on your wifi or whatever and have IbisPaint this is how you do it

Open IbisPaint go to a canvas (any canvas, or make. a new one)

Select the font tool (if you don’t know what or where that is, press the tool icon (normally a paint brush or eraser) and press the T button

From there you should be able to create a text box (writing is not important…). Find the font button and add a new font. I can’t remember what it’s called but you’ll know when you see it

It’ll automatically search for you “free fonts.” Do not follow this. Your app is misdirecting you. Instead search up whatever it is you’re looking for in the search bar, and that should work

Knowledge should not be trapped behind bars, bend and break them until you can grasp it

I'm making a statement right here and now. Vox is going to be the first overlord redeemed.

He's had the clearest character arc, a rise and fall, and I believe he will be the first of them to truly turn his soul around to make it into heavy. (Once he gets there that's when I think he'll become an televangelist LOL)

See, Vox wants to be God. He wants to prove everyone was wrong about him. That he can rise up and be the most powerful. That sets him up for a plot point where he repents and actually, truly, accepts God as the higher power above him and shifts his worship higher. He will accept that he is not truly as strong as he thought, that there will always be stronger, and he will devote his life to that.

He will be the first overlord of Hell to be redeemed and accepted into heaven. I don't think it will be season 3, I'd guess more towards the end of season 4 or season 5 if Amazon gives it that chance.

Ok I have got to talk about the Chinese Room joke in episode 7 for those who didn't get it because it is so good.

The Chinese Room experiment is a thought experiment that says if you put a guy in a room with a Chinese-English dictionary and instructions, but he doesn't understand Chinese. He can follow the instructions to produce a result, but he doesn't actually understand what he's saying. This is a fundamental argument against GenAI/LLMs - they don't actually understand what they're saying, they're just following an algorithm that statistically predicts the next word in a sentence, with no understanding of what the words actually mean.

Also Caine says "it's a mystery what's behind that door" which I interpreted to be a jab at the black box way that GenAI consumes and regurgitates things in its algorithm. Not even its creators know what it knows or how it will respond to things.

This is such a thinnly veiled jab at the fundamental dangers of misunderstanding GenAI being explained through our beloved fake AI. One minute in and I'm already loving this episode
