The band does not exist to serve the sports department

I can’t tell you how many times the sports department has told their athletes before our director that we were going to give a sendoff for whatever team.

I can’t tell you how many times a coach has been condescending or outright rude in his treatment of the band during games.

The band has been kicked off the field in the middle of our halftime show because they apparently had such a strict schedule that they couldn’t take 10 minutes for us to showcase what we’ve worked so hard to accomplish.

The band supports the sports department. We are not a part of it. The students in band pour time and effort into their music, and you can’t even recognize that we exist in a capacity beyond making you look good.

We do not exist to serve you.
