Noah wasn’t surprised to see Wendy running around. After all, he had seen Jane on multiple occasions and he had made up with her. There was something different about Wendy though and noah had such a loyalty to Peter that he felt like it was pertinent that he keep that grudge up a little. “Yeah, hi.” Noah said. “I dunno if you remember me. I’m Noah. Peter’s right hand man.”

“How could I ever forget any of you? It was one of the most magical times of my life, Noah. I remember you, Peter, and everyone else like it was yesterday.” Her voice was earnest, almost willing the boy to believe her. Undoubtedly, she knew that there would be a strained relationship but she hoped that they could come to see why she had made her decision to leave.

Finally looking up at Wendy, she nodded, “You know how it is. The work never stops.” She chuckled, “But I am doing well nonetheless. How’s the daycare?“

“You can say that again but that’s the best kind of work, I think.” She smiled. “Good. The daycare is doing lovely. We’ve gotten a lot of new kids that come in. A tough bunch but wonderful all the same.”

She may have been lucky and had last night off during the ball, but now it was back to work. At the moment, though, Judy was on her lunch break. She parked the cop car and walked into the deli. After sitting down at a table while she waited for her order, she heard footsteps coming towards her. Head down looking at her phone, she quickly looked up with her eyes; the untrained eye probably wouldn’t have caught it. Still looking down, she smiled, “Hi Wendy. How are you today?”

Wendy decided to pop in the local deli to get a sandwich on her break from working at the daycare. In her haste to prepare her husband’s lunch that morning she had forgotten her own. Oh well, that’s why Auradon had such lovely food places within walking distance. Stepping inside, she instantly spotted a familiar face and walked toward the other woman. “Hello, Judy. I’m doing absolutely wonderful. How are you? Busy as always?”

I can tell you everything that I did wrong. I didn’t eat when I was hungry. Didn’t sleep when I was tired. Didn’t get warm when I was cold. It made me weak.

“Oh my gosh, did Elsa ever out do herself.” She smiled at the other. The ice sculptures that had been brought in by the ice queen. “I do, it’s such a magical time and Elsa has made this place look even more spectacular than I ever could of imagined.”

The ice sculptures, the decorations and food, everything was so lovely. It made her all the more excited for the coming holidays. “Oh, and all the performances. I’m surprised that I didn’t see you up there.” She nudged the woman playfully.

     The ball was filled to the brim and Wendy had excepted nothing less of an event thrown by royalty. It looked like something out of her books but was she found most enchanting were all the outfits everyone dressed in. “Don’t the kids all look so lovely?” She posed the question to the woman next to her with a bright smile.

     “Else really has outdone herself,” she exclaimed, gushing over some of the ice statues that decorated the room. Everything was so wintery, a perfect prelude to the holidays to come. “Don’t you love these, Ariel?”

rosie rolled her eyes and giggled, “shush! i’ve been pretty busy with work. it’s the holiday season! everyone wants a christmas wedding.” she caught the apron and tied it around her before starting to pick up some loose toys. “so, how have things been? how’re the kids?”

“oh, i’m sure they’ll all be lovely. you’re fantastic under pressure,” she complimented, moving to clean up a mess of crayons. at least none had been broken this time. “the ones here or at home?” she asked with a small chuckle. “everything’s well. i’m enjoying being at home more now that i’ve taken a break from book tours.”

     it took exactly three seconds for wendy to register why the young boy looked so familiar. “oh...” her voice was soft, barely audible as she gazed down at him. peter hadn’t been the only one she left behind when she chose to leave and a part of her would always ache over the decision even if it was the right one.

rosie had finished all of her work early and was in the mood to visit some friends. she felt as if she was neglecting all her friendships to focus more on her work and that didn’t feel right to her. walking into the daycare, she immediately spotted her friend and let out a small laugh. “hey, wen!” she greeted, walking over to her. “well, i’ve been missing my friends lately and wanted to visit! need any help around here?”

“oh, so you finally remembered us, huh?” she chuckled, nudging her playfully before turning to grab an apron. “kidding. life gets busy but you came just in time. kids are down for nap time. help me clean up?” she asked, tossing the apron over to her. they were all covered in crayon marks and tiny paint hand prints but they showed character and helped those cute hand prints stay off her actual clothes.

Laughter escaped her lips as she attempted to remain innocent looking. “Listen, if you didn’t stand there sticking your foot in a hundred times and just got in I wouldn’t have to watch the torment.” She told the woman. “It’s a pool, it has a regulated temperature. It’s not cold at all.” She told her before launching herself into the water.

Wendy could maintain the angry look for only a second longer before she broke out into a grin, giggling at the water she was splashed in when Ariel jumped in. “No but water in the eyes still sting a little,” she nudged her playfully after wiping her eyes. “But this does feel fantastic. Few things can compare to swimming with a mermaid.”

“Ariel!” She exclaimed, coughing up a small amount of water. “How many times do I have to tell you that I’m capable of getting into the water on my own??" The woman’s tone was exasperated but she knew that her facade would break any moment because she could hardly stay mad over something like this for longer than a couple minutes.
