They really did pick out a lot of snacks, but it was fine! Whatever they didn’t have during their sleepover they could have later or they could share it with the rest of the group at another time. “Me too! I can’t wait to try these snacks, they all look very good! I can see why it’s wise not to go when you haven’t eaten, it’s more tempted to buy more than you need.” she giggled.

“Oh! What kind of movies do you like, Futaba-chan? Playing games sounds like a lot of fun too. You’ll have to teach me though!” Haru really didn’t have a lot of experience on a lot of mundane things since she always had to stick to hobbies that her father approved of. “Hehe, I’m more than happy to play whichever game you’d like to! I’m really excited!”

Carrying the basket over to the counter, Futaba lifted it up and watched the cashier carefully bag up their rather excessive purchases. For a girl so small, Futaba had a healthy appetite, so although they had bought a lot, she didn’t doubt that they could manage to eat them - and besides, a horde of leftover snacks was never a bad thing.

“Hmm... all sorts, I guess, but lately I’ve been watching some American B-movies - they’re meant to be horror films, but they’re pretty funny. What about you?” Already thinking of games they could play when they got to Haru’s place, the hacker grinned. “Okay, I’ll pick something we can both play!” Party games would be ideal, but with just two people, they might not be as much fun.

A sleepover. Looking away from Haru to hide her excitement, Futaba beamed.

The noise which escaped Futaba was inhuman, head sinking down into her shoulders as if she didn’t have a neck.

“H- headpats.” She gurgled, eyes on stalks as if Yusuke had paralysed her with the gentle affection. “Headpats!! B-but I didn’t do anything to deserve the headpats.”

“Crazy doesn’t even begin to describe how the past few weeks have been,” Danny concurs. After all, this dream that may not actually be a dream is starting to really get repetitive and annoying, as well as terrifying.

Everything in this world seemed to be out for his blood, including the cognitive residents inside the stronghold as they spat insults and screeched about how unnatural and wrong he is.

At least this small room, his room, gave him some reprieve. The rest of the house seemed like some unnaturally large tower by comparison.

“I know everything around town, but whatever happened to the building we’re in now keeps me from wanting to explore it. It’s just unnerving in here, like I’ll find some kind of evil if I look too far into it.”

Futaba eyed Mona knowingly, bringing her knees up and fiddling with the spats underneath the sole of her lurid green shoes.

“I think... we need to explore this building more, then. But it’s okay if you don’t want to - Mona and I can do it on our own if you want to stay here.” There was no telling what they might find, and some things were better not knowing - Navi didn’t want to force him to confront anything he wasn’t ready for, although she wondered if he might insist on coming along anyway.

“We need to stay hidden wherever we possibly can - if we have to fight much more, there’s just no way we’ll get to where we need to be." If Danny came along, she supposed that made them a party of three -- but she didn’t want to tire him out any further, he already looked exhausted. Futaba could relate.

“Are tooo!” Futaba withdrew into herself with a whine, pulling the hood of her sweater up around her face and squeezing her eyes shut with a mutter. Water might help, but a bolt hole in which to hide away would be better. “Stop looking at me like thaaaaaat!!”
