Okay?
[Silver wasn’t sure what else to say. He hadn’t really cared all that much.]
That response didn't surprise her at all. She'd grown used to the hedgehog's less-than-enthusiastic nature when it came to conversation.
"How have you been fairing?"

"How have you been fairing?"
It is not that hot out.
Blaze ever so gracefully jumped over that statement and right to the point.
"It's been a while since I've seen you."
fragmentedanomaly liked your post:"It is far too hot out.”
"It is far too hot out."
"This time? Monster?” he echoed stiffly, a brief look of hurt flashing in his eyes, whilst his stance became significantly less relaxed, weight shifting forwards onto one foot whilst his hands hands balled into fists near his sides.
"Blaze, I got a list bigger than Perfect Chaos of friends of mine who I’ve had t’scrap with because they went and had a weird turn - don’t go and be the newest entry," he warned grimly. "C’mon, dude, snap out of it. I know that whatever’s gotten into ya, you’re way more level-headed than this."
A weird turn? The Princess's thoughts traveled back to the Shadow she had met not too long ago, and how he had said that his zone's Sonic helped his Blaze. The more she thought about it, it would give a reason as to why so many of these hedgehogs knew her name, and seemed startled by her horrible attitude.
The flame in her hand went out. ".. Do you have a Blaze in your zone? What's your relationship with her?" The question was completely random, but she felt the need to ask. While she did understand the concept of alternates and different zones or timelines, interacting with the Iblis Trigger in any situation was weird. Heart wrenching. It made her remember nothing but failure and tragedy.
Even after everything though, she tried to be fair to everyone. A good example, even if it meant being polite to a Sonic. She just had to remind herself of that attitude she strived to have, sometimes.
I see. Don’t bother to elaborate.
You are—?
"My name is Blaze. Pleasure to meet you."
hinderedinferno
Hmph. You look familiar.
( Except not really. )
"Same to you. You're Shadow, correct? I've met a few of your alternates."
I thought we established a while back that I don’t, gal pal. Geez, who yanked your tail, Blaze? Or better yet, what did I do in your zone?
I get the feelin’ I’m the one in the bad books here.
-Go on, he was ready to be beat up with whatever his alternate did. He’d already nearly had all the life sapped out of his own world and nearly lost all of his friends recently, he was sure he could handle a good beating over whatever his alternate did.-
Mm. For a small moment there, Blaze actually seemed to ease up. Her expression lightened, eyes sparked with confusion. These alternates really had no clue, did they? Things must be so different in these other zones, and it almost made her jealous. If only things could have been different for her friend's world as well.
"My Sonic wasn't a very kind person. Please excuse me for acting so hostile towards an alternate." She still felt off speaking to him, but perhaps she could at least try to be civil. Try.
The inquiry confused Shadow. Then he thought for a moment — alternate. This Blaze might not have the same origins as the Blaze that he knew.
"I’ve met you before a few times. You come from an alternate dimension where I’m from, and Sonic has helped you in retrieving the Sol Emeralds before," he told her, shrugging. "Alternates can be awfully confusing."
".. Sonic has helped me in your zone?" Her expression lowered, mind swimming with questions. Why would he help her? And retrieving the Sol Emeralds? What had even happened to them? This zone was quite confusing, but she would take his word for it.
.. Even if it was weird to think about.
"I suppose that explains it, then. You say an alternate dimension.. so you aren't from mine? The Sol Dimension?" Oh no. That probably meant that if there had been a Shadow in her own zone, he was.. she'd rather not think about it.
And there was Sonic hoping for a nice chat and maybe some assistance toasting a packet of marshmallows he’d found in the back of the cupboard that morning.
"Whoa, what? It’s me, Blaze, chill out!" he spluttered defensively, holding up both hands in a gesture of peace, raising one eye ridge. "What’s your beef? I just came to say hi, no need to break out the barbecue!"
Sorry, Sonic.
Although the blue hedgehog in front of her tried to defend himself, this only made her more irritated. Golden colored eyes narrowed, a gloved hand whisking beside her leg to ignite a flame. In short, she was quite vexed.
"My 'beef' is that you are a monster and unworthy of my attention at all. Why would you ever just come to say hi to me? What makes you think I would believe such a statement? I'm not letting my guard down, hedgehog. Not this time."
-Woah, hostility much? What the heck had he done wrong? Well… Apart from the whole Zeti-Counch-Eggman-whatever the frick he could call that adventure. Not an adventure actually, that was no ‘adventure’. But he was sure this gal didn’t know about that, and geez, did Blaze have to have such a harsh glare?
What did he want? You know what, he was gonna tell her exactly what he wanted.-
To sleep, eat and play video games. Maybe pick a few flowers when I got the energy. Why? What do you want, man?
What had he done wrong? Blaze could make a fine, long list, but this was an alternate. Perhaps in his zone things were different, but as of right now she had no reason to believe that. Not yet, anyways, so she'd treat him just like she would any other Sonic.
"The things I want are out of reach, so I tend to ignore them. There is no way I'd tell them to the likes of you, anyhow. I am also not 'man', but Blaze or Princess. Have you no manners?"
"Hello, Blaze. No, there isn’t anything you can help me with. I’d like to direct the same question to you, though. You look a little roughed up."
Okay, so maybe Shadow didn’t lose all of his bluntness.
Clearly so. The feline seemed slightly taken aback when he replied, raising one eye ridge. So this one knew her name..? How odd. She didn't think this was the same 'Shadow' she had come across before.
"Ah.. I'm alright. Thank you for the offer, though." She cocked her head to the right. "If I may inquire, how do you know my name?"

Why so many blue hedgehogs? Blaze was beginning to wonder if the gods were playing some sick joke on her, what, running into all these Sonic alternates.
"What do you want?"

"Hello there. Is there anything I can help with?"
"Someone doesn't like fish."
What's the deal with Silver?
Interesting question. Blaze immediately parted her lips to reply, but nothing came out. She choked up.
"…."
"I’d rather not speak of it. There’s much better things to talk about than a sad story."
[Silver wasn’t entirely sure how to respond. It wasn’t often he was left without a comment, but Blaze had a way of doing that to him. He could tell from the start this was no alternate. He knew no alternate that didn’t wear the traditional ponytail. Silver’s arms folded against his chest, eyes furrowing.]
What does it matter how I look? This body is just a common shell. There is no point to taking care of it. One would think taking such poor care of yourself would have ill consequences. Perhaps being forced to live out my days is my cruel punishment.
[This was a level of openness he would not have shown to anyone other than Blaze. He allowed himself to say everything he was thinking, as opposed to limiting it to a few words.]
"I'm sorry to inform you that you need said 'common shell' to be healthy and survive, although you seem to have no interest in doing the latter." She mirrored his position, slowly moving her arms to cross them over her chest.
This was just sad. She almost had the nerve right then and there to take him back to the Sol Dimension and fix him up. Give him a roof over his head and food in his belly, but no, she couldn't do that. It was his life, and ultimately, his choice what he wanted to do with himself. It just hurt to see it go this way.
