Another inconvenience courtesy of the bundle of instincts, quirks, and ingrained patterns that he had taken to calling The Ghost or, when it was especially bothersome, That Damned Ghost. A tendency towards sulking over perceived slights, a hair-trigger temper, and a level of hypervigilance that would leave even a Judoon wondering what the fuss was all about. And, as his current circumstances were demonstrating in all too perfect detail, the overwhelming need to meddle.

Though that might have also been the Doctor’s bad influence.

Yet another reason to get this wrapped up quickly: they had another not-date planned for tonight.

He glared at her in disgust. “I’ve been trying to put myself together for years, but every time I’m around you, you can’t see me. You look at me, and you can’t see me. All you see is him.”

“I don’t know you. I don’t know how different you are from him.”

“You haven’t even used my name. Not even in your head—I was in there, I sensed it. This isn’t a disguise. This is me. Why won’t you accept that?”

“Because every time I think he’s gone, he comes back!” she blurted out. “Do you think I haven’t buried him before? Do you think I haven’t seen the proof and then been proven wrong? Those text messages on your mobile: I thought O was my friend, but he was just another disguise! So how can I trust you?”

His expression was stony, but there was something pleading in his eyes. “Because I’m a real person. Even if this is somehow reversed—and it won’t be—I’m just as real as he ever was. So please.” He held out a hand. “Please just see me.”

Strangled By the Red String (Doctor Who Fanfic)

I love playing around with tropes and decided to tackle the Strangled By the Red String trope with a little Spydoc fluff:

After the Rani decides to deal with two problems at once, the Doctor and Master's final confrontation on Gallifrey goes bewilderingly off the rails.

It feels impossible. It is impossible. But when something feels this perfect, why would they ever want it to stop?

every day I learn bot comments on ao3 are stooping lower and lower

anyway if you get a comment like this, chances are that they are bot and their goal is to do whatever it takes to get you to delete your work, most certainly (from what I’ve heard) it’s because they want to “safely” steal your work, use it to train their ai without you being able to rightfully claim ownership of your work since “there’s no proof that the work was stolen/was posted elsewhere first by you” because the original source has already been deleted.

THEY ARE ALL BOTS. at first it was “ao3 is deleting fics and your entire account will be affected unless you delete the fics yourself” then it was “this work contains contents that are illegal and they have already reported you and your fic to the police” (yes, that’s how desperate these bots are), and now it’s this.

report their comments to ao3 for spam—in this case, specifically, I think you may be able to report them for harassment too—and don’t pay attention to them, most importantly don’t delete your works, don’t feel discouraged by their comments. remember that they are bots and they mass comment something like this on people’s works at random to get people to delete their works. (or even if they’re not bot, they are still pathetic bullies who don’t deserve your time or attention.)

The Eternals who personified Life and Death were gone.

“I’m not the one who did it, unfortunately,” the Master said. “I merely… seized the opportunity. There’s one minor snag, though: there are two roles that need to be filled.”

In order to stop him, the Doctor makes a fateful decision: take on the role of Life to stop the Master's plans for universal destruction.

Got a troll comment on my fic this morning along the lines of "your writing is bad and you should delete this and pretend you never wrote it" and while I honestly dgaf, it's very funny to imagine someone reading up to the sixth chapter of the 11th story in a series and this is the thing that finally made them snap.
