Thoughts Out Loud: Good 12.12.12
Here are 12 random (good) thoughts for the 12th day of the 12th month of the year 2012:
1. Christmas is in full swing in the Philippines! The traffic has gotten a hundred times worse because of it, but on the bright side there are lights everywhere, every other song playing on the radio is a Christmas song, and I feel that people are generally nicer to one another because it's Christmas!
2. Christmas also means a lot of get togethers with friends you don't see all the time so that's something I'm really looking forward to. I can't wait for the days to come!
3. I'm also excited to celebrate yearly Christmas traditions with my family! Our house is all decked out for the Holidays, and I especially can't wait for Christmas day where everyone comes over for good food, wine, laughter, and lots of love.
4. Judging from the previous numbers, I'm quite the fan of the Yuletide season. Obviously Christmas puts me in a very good mood, so I've just been incredibly happy lately. Being incredibly happy is always nice.
5. I'm also looking forward to a trip to Davao City with my mom's side of the family. We're all spending the days after Christmas as well as the New Year there, so it's pretty exciting.
6. While in Davao I also look forward to the beach, swimming out in the open sea, and having a lot of time to read.
7. My good friend Sarah and I have finally found a subject for the children's book we have been wanting to write for ages! We also have the go signal from the publishing house who's going to publish us. So hooray for that!
8. I'm also really excited to go to Cebu for Sinulog with my friends in January. A little over a month left!
9. I got a haircut! And I've always liked getting a new 'do- so to speak.
10. On another shallow note, I am so excited to see The Hobbit and Les Miserables. I've been waiting all year for these movies to come out.
11. Recently I've been having a lot of "what I want for my life" realizations. I can't quite explain where it's all coming from, but clarity is always a welcome thing, don't you think?
12. And finally, a new season is forthcoming. Literally and figuratively. Right now I still don't have the right words explain everything, but I realized that for this specific time in my life I find comfort and reassurance in Rainer Maria Rilke and how he says life is in the right, always.
