Hey. Why isn’t the moon landing a national holiday in the US. Isn’t that fucked up? Does anyone else think that’s absurd?

It was a huge milestone of scientific and technological advancement. (Plus, at the time, politically significant). Humanity went to space! We set foot on a celestial body that was not earth for the first time in human history! That’s a big deal! I’ve never thought about it before but now that I have, it’s ridiculous to me that that’s not part of our everyday lives and the public consciousness anymore. Why don’t we have a public holiday and a family barbecue about it. Why have I never seen the original broadcast of the moon landing? It should be all over the news every year!

Just endured a 10-minute rant from my father (who by his own admission thinks "soccer is stupid" and hasn't watched a single game this entire tournament) about how Erling Haaland is overrated and the only reason he's gotten any attention this World Cup is because some female TV exec thinks he's hot but he actually has troll face, so he doesn't deserve the media coverage. And I'm just like...

He's gotten attention because he's scored like 7 goals against some very talented opponents?!

Just because you, a sexist homophobe, don't find him attractive doesn't mean no one else does.

What the ever-loving fuck do his looks have to do with it anyhow? It's not a beauty pageant; it's FOOTBALL.
