Natsu, of course, wouldn’t hear Sting as he made his way to the bar and back rather quickly. The smile on his face never faltering even as he talked to Mira for the ice water.
“You’re welcome, Sting,” Natsu said. “You walked here?! No wonder you looked so dead on your feet!” he exclaimed. “What brought you here anyway?” he asked, taking a seat next to the light dragon rather than sitting across from him.
Natsu’s smile would brighten further while he and Sting talked. “How long are you going to be in town? Do you have a place to stay?” he asked question after question before he’d stop, turn red and rub the back of his neck. “Sorry, I’m just so excited that you’re here,”
Sting only hears about half of Natsu’s rapid-fired questions. (Really, he wasn’t listening a lot. Natsu’s smile is...distracting.) And it leaves him scrambling to answer. Is that what it’s like talking to me?
“U-Uh, I dunno how long... I probably shouldn’t stay long. Er...” He rubs the back of his neck and looks away, mumbling something under his breath before turning back to Natsu with a small smile. “And no, I don’t have a place to stay. I was hoping Fairy Tail had a room open, or I could go find a hotel...”
