psst transtalia please
somebody asked me a while ago why i don’t post art on my blogs if i draw!
well, i’ll explain this the way i explained it to a friend -- [6:23:14 PM] butts: u see lately people have been saying shit like, u HAVE to take art seriously and u HAVE to have a set style and u HAVE to practice for u to be an artist [6:23:26 PM] butts: which puts a lot of pressure on me, who originally started for fun you see, when i was very young i was told that i was talented. even though i’m not told that often anymore, because many of my peers have begun drawing ‘seriously’ (and as a result have far surpassed any talent i had/have), i still want to draw. i often have the most fun drawing when i have no standards to live up to or when i’m allowed to just scribble out whatever my lil heart desires. which is why i don’t post my art! for me, unless my art is something i know other people would like, it’s not something i show to other people. my vent art, for example, isn’t good enough to make me want to start a blog entirely for vent art. i have seen some absolutely fabulous vent artwork on this site and many others, but when i vent, i don’t want to focus on what i think other people would like (which is what makes my art nice to look at for other people) because that just makes me unhappy and defeats the point of venting. usually when i have something that i’m proud of and/or want to show other people, it’s creative writing, an autobiography/vent blurb, prose or poetry. because i’m a writer, and that’s where my talent really lies. you see? for me drawing is a fun hobby, while writing is something i like to show people because i might someday make a career out of it (i want to be a literature professor!) i hope this clears things up for the person who asked and anyone else who cares!
reblog this if you post hetalia!
i need more people to follow and i want to see how many of us are still out there.
