Plus it's never "just lying down for 5 minutes". For those 5 minutes, men expect their wives to smile, be vocal, look enthusiastic and into it, and if she just "lies there like a starfish" it'll make him feel bad and not desired. So as with everything else, sex just becomes another thing where women are expected to perform physical and emotional labour for the man so he can feel wanted while she's not allowed to feel anything at all.

Why won’t the trans community admit gendered socialisation is real, and is something you should unlearn if you’re serious about transitioning?

I met a trans woman yesterday who said their favourite Game of Thrones character was Ramsey Bolton. Ramsey was a violent sadistic rapist who tortured and abused many people. He was written to be one of the most villanous and unlikeable characters in the entire show. Only someone who has gone through male socialisation would say this man was their favourite character.

I couldn’t see them as a woman after hearing them justify their choice. They sounded like any other man I’d had an argument with about rapist characters.

If trans women want to be thought of as women, it is up to them to assimilate and put the work in. I have met a few trans women who have genuinely done the work, and I will think of them as women. I have also met several which I will think of as nothing but male.

I’ll get called a ‘terf’ for this, but if it walks like a duck and quacks like a duck …. it’s probably a duck. You can’t act and behave like a man and expect me to see you as a woman.

I would support the trans community a lot more if they were honest, and acknowledged it is trans people’s responsibility to assimilate, not on everyone else to play pretend.
