Izuku hissed in pain as Ochako dabbed the antiseptic-soaked cotton ball across his knuckles, letting the clear liquid soak into the abrasions littering the skin. Though his face contorted into a range of expressions, he managed to keep his arm perfectly still, allowing the girl to clean the teeny bits of rubble and drywall from his small wounds. When he hissed again, Ochako pursed her lips to squint scoldingly at him.Ā
āOh, donāt be like that! This is your own fault!ā she chastised. āYou should have known better than to spar with the other boys without any protective equipment. What were you all thinking, just sparring at random after our weekly conditioning? You know that today is all about taking it easy from our hardcore training, right?āĀ
āSorry,ā Izuku whined, shifting his legs restlessly to keep from moving his arm. āI just couldnāt help itā¦ You know I get riled up so easilyā¦āĀ
āYeah, so I donāt wanna hear any more whining! Deal with the consequences of your actions!ā She did one more sweep with the antiseptic, cleaning out the last of the debris, before she began applying adhesive bandages slathered with antibiotic to each of his fingers. Once she was finished, he gave his fingers an experimental flex. He then grinned and looked at Ochako.Ā
āThanks, Ochako! I appreciate it.ā
āI donāt want gratitude,ā she sighed, and he looked at her quizzically. āI just want you to stop being so reckless!ā she huffed and crossed her arms. She tried so hard to be angry, but when he gave her that little pout that made his emerald eyes all the bigger, she couldnāt help but sag. āI just worry, Izukuā¦ā She looked entreatingly at him, batting her eyelashes.Ā
And the more devious part of her screamed, Come on! Get the hint!
And stupid Izuku was just as oblivious as ever.Ā
