Most blatant example of transmisogyny I have seen this last week was seeing a trans woman talking about youth rights and get twisted into looking like a predator for it.

So there was this post about how removing someone's rights to consent is a way to subjugate them. Now, if you have been following politics even a little bit you may be aware that transphobes in multiple countries have been trying to deny the rights of trans minors to access the medical care they want under the guise of "protecting them" or "parental rights". Sometimes they even try to ban them from social transition as well.

So it is pretty obvious - especially given the current political context - that this is what the post was about. Minors are treated as the property of their parents and can't access medical access they need without permission from them. They may even be tortured in conversion therapy camps or at-home conversion efforts by their parents and don't get a say in any of this.

Then someone cropped the post and claimed that actually it wasn't about medical access, it was about sex, and OP was actually trying to abuse children.

That's not the kind of claim you make as just a mistake or a misunderstanding with how big of a topic trans youth healthcare bans have become lately. It was a deliberate lie relying on the same transmisogynistic trope of treating everything trans women do or say as being secretly motivated by predatory sexual desires.

Yet a lot of people were willing to join the ensuing harassment campaigns and start posting about how trans activists were secretly normalizing CSA through youth rights. Not even a hint of the original topic (healthcare) to be seen.
