He should have been spinal tapped into the Ultra Magnus suit, where he would have lost any semblance of himself after the intertwining. It should be that it is and only ever was Ultra Magnus.

Like when a male angler fish attaches to a female and loses any consciousness it once held but still retains some identification of what it once was.

I want it to be that when you open the Ultra Magnus suit all you see is a withered once-what-was. A mummy of a Minimus. A has been.
