I’m actually screaming and clawing at my enclosure over how people managed to literally make THE HANDMAID’S TALE centered on their favorite MAN. Or how people managed to make all of their fan content regarding a politically-themed dystopian story about women’s rights center exclusively on the romantic subplot 😭😭

Nick was never supposed to be a good guy!! That was intentional!! He was meant to show how even the ‘nice’ men in patriarchal systems will ultimately still choose the power and security offered to them by the patriarchy over protecting the rights of women. He only ever ‘rebelled’ because he loved June, not because he ever cared about the rights of women in Gilead. Somebody save media literacy because we cannot do the “the hunger games is actually about the Katniss love triangle!!” thing all over again

Let me make up for last week's John/Chiana madness with one of my very favorite John/Aeryn videos.

How have I not shared any @hostilepoet17 before?!? Well I'll get to more of them, but let me start by saying they have probably done fanvids for your favorite shows, because they have amazing taste. So go check out their YouTube or Tumblr.

The editing is magical. This isn't chronological, it clusters moments across the show with similar emotional resonance and that really works for me. And the song is an acoustic piano Dusk til Dawn cover by Kirsten Collins and Blake Rose that I had to hunt down and put on my Farscape playlist.

I love talky fanvids, that use/weave in a lot of dialogue and this one does that while still letting the beautiful music shine too. And it's so romantic. Go enjoy.

something that really fucking breaks my heart is how young so many of the journalists giving us on-the-ground coverage from gaza are. motaz is what, 24/25? bisan is 26 at most? they're my age. i cannot fathom the enormity of the trauma and grief that they are carrying while also going to such extreme lengths to ensure that israel does not erase this genocide from our collective memory. they are so terrified of being forgotten. inshallah they will live, we will never forget them.
