wheww it’s been a while since i drew anything for iwtv/tvl! i’ve wanted to illustrate lestat’s wolf hunt scene from the book for ages now, but i knew it’d be really difficult so i put it off. honestly i’m still not at the skill level required to execute it the way i see it in my head…but i tried my best! :))

Louis and Lestat, commissioned by @wicked-felina and @nyanakin from the talented @maikuuro, based on a scene in Ash’s incredible fic The Middle Ground:

Even Lestat’s eyes are different up close; blown wide and glassy like bloodshot crystal swallowing the scant warm light from the lamp across the room and refracting it into a million brilliant pieces. They lock onto him with such frightening desperation as his fingers grip Louis’ arm so tight it hurts. Again, he kisses Louis. And again, Louis kisses back.

The veil between them is as silent as ever, but Louis understands the unspoken plea nonetheless as Lestat’s breath comes out panting and hot on his lips— it is a plea for closeness, a plea for stability, a plea for company on this new horizon of discovery.
