Looking back into the history of my "fuck staff" tag because today's big announcement has me stewing in anger, and I encountered a change from a while back where they removed profile pics (for some dumb reason) and the uproar was loud enough to get the decision reversed (even as noted idiot cyle argued in favor of the terrible UI change, and even now is reblogging shit that paints himself as the superior intellect plagued by the peons of the userbase).

So yeah, send those feedback tickets, make a fuss. They've reversed course before, no reason they can't do it again.

I'm fully staying off of tumblr desktop and just using tumblr mobile for now. if this update comes to tumblr for android before @staff comes to their senses I'll be leaving the app a one star review and deleting it from my phone. in that situation mutuals can tell me on discord if they ever roll the update back so I can go back to using tumblr

Its definitely not perfect because the note aggregates are still proving to be a real son of a bitch to fix (if anyone wants to help patch that youre more than welcome) but it should at least preserve the original note count and get rid of the extra note bars. All i could do with page-context injection plus DOM/network monkey-patching
