Fave thing about The Dream Thieves is when kavinsky said "I'm going to kill myself in front of them all to forever change their bond and the trajectory of their lives" and then did and they it just didn't. They're bonds and trajectories were unchanged. Never met a group of less bothered people.

i hate it when people simplify gansey entirely to a socially-awkward history nerd, because that’s just not who he is??

ganseys obsessed with glendower, and wears boat shoes, but he’s also charming and cool. he’s the captain of the rowing team, he’s travelled all around the world, he’s had girlfriends, he can be a vain pretentious asshole, but he’s also kind and just inherently good

he’s full of so many contradictions that each character has to confront during the series to learn that he’s more than what they see in him (adam at the washington party, ronan seeing gansey-on-fire, blue learning about his panic attacks in england)

ultimately, they all learn to except every part of him unconditionally, not just picking and choosing the parts they accept, and it’s so beautiful

gansey deserves better than to be seen one-dimensionally as (a) a bumbling history nerd (b) a rich unintentional asshole, or my personal least favourite (c) someone his friends/girlfriend tolerate but don’t like
