An amazing example of how sound looks, created by musician Nigel Stanford
Australian Musician and Producer Ta-Ku has started an audio/visual project by the name of Create + Explore, in which he is bringing photographers and filmmakers together with Musicians. Definitely worth checking out!
CANVAS
My final project for year 2 studying Motion Graphics + Visual Effects!
Continuing my Investigation into How Sound Looks I decided to go 3d for this, and create a short video using tracked low poly objects reacting to Flume's remix of Tennis Court by Lorde
The finished Pieces! (They're all in one video to make watching them easier, but they're meant to be separate)
Pre-vis for 'Little Grows As We Go'
The geometric graphics used in the videos on a poster. Each column is for a video (left to right: Dazed, Shelbie Pt. 2, True Looks, and Turns, all around).
Pre-vis for 'Dazed'
Pre Vis for 'Shelbie Pt. 2'
Synesthesia
Today I learnt about Synesthesia (in particular, the audio/visual type). It's a fascinating Phenomenon where a person sees shapes, images and colour when listening to particular pieces of music. There's a lot on the internet about this neurological condition, here's one article that I found explained things well:
http://www.brainpickings.org/index.php/2011/01/26/synesthesia-music-visualization/
This ties in well with this project, as asking people with the condition will help me develop the piece in a more meaningful way.
Initial pre-vis (also being used for 'True Looks')
