Has anyone else noticed this parallel? Love Story vs. Blank Space. I was looking at this and got to thinking… in Love Story Taylor is running towards the guy, but in Blank Space the guy is running after Taylor. To me it seems very symbolic of the growth Taylor has made in the past few years. Think about it… in 2008 (when Love Story was released) a lot of her music centered around love/boys/heartbreak/etc. By the way, I am in NO WAY saying that’s a bad thing. It’s GREAT!!!!! GO GIRL for writing about your past relationships and showing young girls around the world it’s okay to have feelings and be emotional and get your heart broken and get back up and find that one great love!!!!! YES!!!! GIRL POWER!!!! So in Love Story, Taylor is running towards “Romeo”….. while in Blank Space she is running away from the guy. And in the past few years, Taylor has embraced being single, found an incredible group of girlfriends, stated her views/support of feminism, and basically has become a walking billboard for the idea that you don’t need a guy to make you happy. And I LOVE IT. Taylor has become so independent and empowered and seems like she is happier than she’s ever been, no boys needed. I really hope the media will understand this concept sometime in the near future…….. because Taylor is worth so much more than the guy she is supposedly “dating”.
