I think lots of people in the tumblr community need to realise that writers do NOT owe you their writing just because you sent in a request. And it’s honestly bizarre that is somthing that has to be said. You are not paying them. They are writing for their community out of the goodness of their own hearts, to read the work is a PRIVILEGE not a RIGHT. And I think a lot of you will do well to remember that.

As an English person, I love it when I’m reading a marauders fic and it’s obvious that the author is not from England.
Like, get it girl, I’ve never heard of anyone bar maybe my nan call the police a “Bobbie” or when I have to re read the line cuz they’ve said pants instead of trousers, giving the sentence a very different meaning in my mind.
Never fails to make me laugh.
But the effort is there and I love them all the same, and lowkey some of my fav fics are written by Americans or other Europeans
Writings marauders fics is genuinely mind boggling, like what do you mean I’m writing about a character who was maybe mentioned once?
Even better, that fics about sed characters are some of the most read fics on the whole of ao3.
I love our fandom and I love our little gay wizards and witches even more <3
in 2025 let’s bring back being enthusiastic on ao3. leave a comment on every chapter. leave kudos and, if necessary, leave “double kudos” in the comments. tags and notes on bookmarks. the whole nine yards. let’s show fanfic authors how much we love them.
