kind of a funny story | maebyn and kristoff
Maebyn cleared her throat, slowly taking her hands out of her pockets. She looked down at them—all clear, they weren’t letting out any sign of frost, ice or snow. It was safe to take the leash and she did so, tugging back. “Really? That’s my mom’s last name. Weird. I don’t know a lot of people with that name but then again, it’s not really her real last name. It’s kind of just a title.”
The girl looked down at Sven, then back at Kristoff. “sorry about Sven. I don’t know why my mom insists on keeping him. He’s really more trouble than he’s worth. I—I can try and like, I don’t know. You aren’t going to get busted by the health department, are you? Dogs or especially this one—can be really gross. Well,” she shrugged, turning away but then stopped.
"Sorry, I forgot to say who I was but that might be weird but my dog—my mom’s dog, kinda almost destroyed you and I mean, you know my mom’s last name and knowing mine won’t hurt because I have a different last name. I’m Maebyn but I can’t ell you my last name because my mom would flip out. She doesn’t like me talking to strangers."
Kristoff kept his eyes stern, 'Why does she keep looking at her hands?' He thought to himself. This all looked to familiar, but he didn't want to push it. I mean he barely knew the girl, but still. Something was a bit off about her.
Kristoff wasn't really paying attention to what she was saying, but when he heard 'Thats my mom's last name' and 'Sven' he quickly brought his eyes to hers. "Wait- what did you just say?" He paused for a moment looking at her then to the dog standing near her. He tilted his head, "What's your mothers first name?" Kristoff's heart was racing and his hands started to become sweaty.
