You know, I think Victor's actually more sensitive to Yuri Plisetsky's feelings and needs than most give him credit for.

When Yuri's like, "Why can't I skate to Eros?" he doesn't state the obvious (aka. 'You're a prepubescent monster and I don't want everyone creeping on you while you skate to the theme of sexual love."), because he understand Yuri's need to be respected as an equal, even while recognizing Yuri can't yet appreciate the gaps in their experience. Because Victor was also once a young prodigy surrounded by and competing against people who were equal or subordinate to him in skill, despite being older and more experienced. Because Victor recognizes and respects that aspect of himself in Yuri.

(Or maybe because Victor simply couldn't tell Katsuki Yuuri outright that it was totally fine for him to skate to Eros because he's a sexy thing and everyone is already crushing on him anyways :D )

Headcanon: Viktor is afraid of spiders. Yuuri has accepted that in marrying Viktor, he's become de facto responsible for capturing and releasing any wayward arachnids in the man's vicinity.

I have no logical basis for this--I just love the idea of Viktor jumping into Yuuri's arms to get away from some hapless spider on the floor :D

do you think that nickandre feel that while whatever they have is certainly painful, it must be strangely calming to know that there is always someone there for you. that no matter how alone they feel, they really are never alone because they have each other. because they’re each others person. how special it is - it’s something most people don’t have

so, i would say that prior to this point in the story they did not really see each other as like a source of support - obviously Andre was always there for Nick but it's kind of this double edged sword that they're both aware of because Andre is so tied up with so much of what is hurting Nick, that Nick never really saw him as someone he wanted to turn to even if Andre tried to be that person

and Nick's support of Andre has always been way more unpredictable and therefore is not something Andre has ever relied on,

so neither of them has ever seen the other as like "their safe space" in any solid dependable way, there's always been too much competition and/or comparison between them

I do think this last chapter is kind of a big shift though, and you see them both trying to navigate that in the next chapter

tbh everybody in the professional figure skating world was probably really glad when Viktor retired because they thought that maybe they wouldn’t have to sit through the FOUR MINUTE LONG Russian national anthem at every single competition anymore. Then Yuri Plisetsky started winning.

I bet Victor goes back to Russia a few weeks before Yuuri is going to move there and he walks into his old apartment with Makkachin at his heels and immediately realizes it’s totally unlivable, like he doesn’t even have PLATES, he has only one couch and a double bed, this is not at ALL acceptable for his dear Yuuri to live in, he needs him to be comfortable living somewhere new so he basically goes on a crazed redecorating spree, fueled by his stress over how much he misses Yuuri in the first place, and drags the entire Russian skating team to Ikea on six different occasions, buys thousands of dollars worth of furniture, forces Mila, Georgi, and Yurio to rearrange the entire apartment four times ‘why did you buy two more couches if you ALREADY HAD ONE THEY DON’T EVEN FIT?!!’ ‘plz yurio this one is more comfortable in case we fight and I have to sleep on the coach and I just thought this one looked cool, it’s totally necessary’ ‘ARGHHH!!’ 

So basically when Yuuri finally does arrive in St. Petersburg the entire Russian skating team is overjoyed to see him

okay, sharon.

i think my fondness for yuri plisetsky, and the reason i enjoy him as a character is because he is 15-years-old and an absolute shit.  at no point does the show try to show he has the emotional or mental faculties of anything more than that.  he doesn’t know how to be nice, and he’s the center of his own universe, so he can’t see outside himself, and he’s angry and he’s spiteful

the only thing that yuri plisetsky knows is that it’s him against the world

he is painfully, awfully, terribly fifteen-years-old.  

like if you look me in the eyes and tell me you weren’t The Worst as a fifteen-year-old i will never trust you, because you just lied to my face while looking into my eyes.  everyone in their own unique way was AWFUL at fifteen.  because we’re young and we’re learning how to feel and we’re learning we don’t always like that and the world is fucking huge and terrifying and sometimes straight up bonkers and processing that all at once is overwhelming and weird 

THAT BEING SAID: i don’t expect anything than just some filler yuri plisetsky being a dumb awful teenager in WTTM. that is what i’ve always expected, because yuri plisetsky is a dumb awful teenager.  that’s kind of his thing.   

BUT!! in the future of the franchise, when they’re trying to figure out what the next chapter in these characters’ lives looks like, i really hope they look at yuri plisetsky and figure out he needs to learn failure

he needs to try for something, and he needs to try for it with all he’s got, and he needs to fail anyway.  

that’s the one thing i felt i didn’t get closure on during the series, and i would just love the continued narrattive of Yuri Plisetsky Learns To Be A Real Boy, where he becomes more human and more grown up as he slowly learns to see outside himself and put words to what he sees.

It takes Viktor almost a year of marriage to figure out how to say “I physically need to spend money on you” without making it sound like a sex thing even tho it’s a sex thing it’s definitely a sex thing.

Yuuri has an innocuous notebook that spends its life on one of the overfull bookshelves in his and Viktor’s living room and it used to be a place to write down notes to himself but somewhere along the way it became dominated by the “Things my Husband Has Cried About” list.

Hmmmmm but will anything be As Cute as the concept™ that all the kids in hasetsu genuinely think victor is some sort of foreign magical prince that probably stepped out of a ghibli movie and all these kids are Super Fascinated with the beautiful prince and his good nice dog????

Will any thought be as good as the thought that victor understands zero japanese but somehow makes friends with kids just through charades and letting them pet his dog???? Is anything as wholesome as hasetsu’s teeny kiddos being Enchanted with his hair and victor letting them touch it sometimes??

Will anything make me feel as warm and fuzzy as these kiddos going to yuuri and shyly asking “is he a real prince?” and yuuri conpletely seriously, very heartfeltly saying “yes”??? hmmmm???? Because i think The Heck Not.

I’m imagining Victor getting boxes and boxes of merch and art of him made by his fans and he just uses them all, even if he doesn’t necessarily need them.

His Stammi Vicino phone case? A gift from a fan. He was so touched that he switched out his cases immediately and took a bathroom selfie with it and tweeted his thanks.

Figurines and keychains of him? He uses every single one. People might think he’s a bit of a weirdo but he just thinks it’s unbearably cute and heartwarming.

His apartment has dozens of these little knicknacks with either his name or face on them, and Yuuri can’t hide how embarrassed he is when he realizes that at least ten of them are from him, years ago.

Dumb headcanon of the day: it’s very rare, but every so often Victor and Yuuri will get in a bad enough argument where they’ll try to give each other the cold shoulder and go off by themselves to sulk, but it never lasts more than 24 hours at the absolute tops because they’re the most pathetic sad babies when they have to be away from each other, and their friends usually intervene because they can’t put up with this nonsense.

Three hours after the fight about Victor forgetting their anniversary Phichit calls Victor’s phone and is like, ‘um, hi, this is Phichit! Yuuri came over to my place and he just ate an entire gallon of ice cream while watching sad movies and I think he’s in a legit food coma now and I’m kinda scared so can you come over and patch things up with him right now please??’

‘Uh, actually, this is Yuri. I just answered Victor’s phone because it rang like twenty times. That dumbass came to practice but then he just lay down on the ice and cried, and all the tears made his stupid face stick to the ice and Mila is trying to pry him off now, so it’s gonna be a while.’
