$900+, 300+ scales, 140+ glue sticks, 7+ bottles of super & leather glue, blood, tears, and two straight weeks of sleepless nights and busy days later, and it’s finally over.
Before I go on, I want to sit here and type out this message which is well over due even by a few days. “The Hiccup Project" was a fully funded Kickstarter started by me, a goal of $900 to put towards a costume, and little did I know that the Kickstarter would actually reach its goal. This costume would have not been possible if not for the help of Tumblr and all the people who helped promoting and getting the word around. I wanted to do more with the costume, but the kicksarter gave me $100 less in the end that I couldn’t put that towards the few extra details. I actually used more money than I had gotten from the project to make this. Over time, I do plan on adding more. This costume would have not been possible if the backers of the project had not put down the money they could to fund it for every dollar needed. I want to thank everyone who came through for me and backed this project and reblogged all my promo posts. With out all of you, this simply could not happen. Beyond that, I want to thank my friend Ebony for actually helping me put together this costume in the two weeks that I had to make it. Without her help, this would not be as perfect as it looks, nor would it have gotten done on time. I must give her the credit for literally wrapping mostly every armor piece in leather on this project and supplying me with tools I needed that otherwise could have not gone without, along with her endless support and drive to help me get this done in time. From here on I plan to go to the movie premiere as Hiccup, take videos, photos, and anything else that I can to really live out this costume to the full potential that I can. This is a dream cosplay that came to life, and I truly can not express my appreciation and gratitude to all of you for your support on this.
