based on this pretty skin and this one

setup steps:

click the code link above — it’ll open a long block of code. copy all of it (don’t include the title). it’s way easier to do this on desktop since mobile has copy limits

on AO3, go to your username → dashboard → skins → create site skin

give it a unique title, paste the CSS you copied, then scroll down and hit submit

once it’s created, just click “use” to apply the skin 🖤

hope there aren’t too many mistakes lol my english kinda sucks 😭

Anyway, I hope this skin brings 100% strawberry sweetness to your AO3! For this update, I also made custom bookmark icons. I think they look like cute little stamps on the work page! Go ahead and give your favorite fics a special strawberry seal of approval! 🧺✨ Hope you like it!

🛠️ Installation Guide

I have uploaded the codes to my GitHub. You will find two files there:

🍓base: This file contains the foundation code (Base Code).

🍓🧺✨: This file contains the strawberry color theme code (Theme Code).

Here is how to use them:

Step 1: Create the Base Skin

Open the 🍓base file on my GitHub and copy all the code.

On AO3, create a new site skin. (You can name it whatever you like, as AO3 skin names must be unique for everyone).

Paste the copied code into the CSS box.

Scroll down to the "Advanced" section and check the box for "Parent Only".

Click "Submit" to save.

Step 2: Create the Color Theme Skin

Open the 🍓🧺✨ file on my GitHub and copy all the code.

On AO3, create another new site skin (again, name it whatever you prefer).

Paste the copied code into the CSS box.

Scroll down to the "Advanced" section again.

Find "Parent Skins" and click the "Add parent skin" button.

In the input field that appears, search for the exact name you gave to your Base Skin in Step 1, and select it.

Click "Submit" to save and apply.

⚠️ Important Note:

If you are using Google Chrome and encounter issues adding the parent skin (e.g., the search box doesn't respond), please try switching to a different browser, such as Microsoft Edge, to complete this step.

📝 Notes:

English is not my first language, so please forgive any awkward phrasing or errors in my explanation.

The image materials used to build this skin were found online. This is a completely free, passion project meant for sharing, and will never be used for any profit.

The fanfictions shown in the preview images belong entirely to their respective amazing authors. I only used them to demonstrate the skin layout.

🌿💌 Vintage Letter Green – AO3 Skin

Someone recently asked me if I would ever make a sage-green themed AO3 skin, and that question immediately reminded me of this green design — one of my early experimental works, so it might not be as polished as my cream archival-card skin, but it has its own little charm. 💚✨

For this green version, I added decorative floral borders to both the works list and the reading view, giving it the feeling of vintage floral letter paper. 🌼💌

Following that idea, I redesigned the kudos list icon so it looks like a tiny letter of appreciation, and rearranged the layout to match this soft “letter paper” theme. ✉️🌿

For the tag boxes, I used a four-shade green gradient, which feels gentle and easy on the eyes. 🍃

And if you click on the tag area… there’s a little hidden easter egg I added just for fun. ♡🌟

English isn’t my first language, so please excuse any awkward phrasing.

This skin is shared purely for fun and non-commercial use. All visual elements come from publicly available materials and are used only for aesthetic layout purposes.

AO3 Site Skin: Sirens' Sailors

𓆉 𓆝𓂂𓏸 𓆟 𓇼 𓂂 Disclaimers : I take no request. This one skin is specifically for handphone user only, for other devices unfortunately the skin would be too messy i think. But if you want to tinker with the skin and make the other devices friendly version, feel free, just credit me. I used this berry/reversi blue tag icons and followed little bits of this for header & this for some of the buttons. Images and pngs are from Tumblr and Pinterest. Dividers used in this post are from @uzmacchiato

﹏𓊝﹏ When i made my latest ao3 skin i stumble upon this beautiful aesthetic dividers by @rmstitanics and that's the origin of my motivation to make this skin–the light mode for Serene Antipathy(more about that below the basic tutorial). I used some of her nautical set and edited it to fit my skin(i hope you don't mind, miss😶‍🌫️). Yes some of the images in this skin are moving like the og divider.

Tutorial how to activate the skin + the code :

‌Copy the code i provided in this GitHub, there is a copy button at the top right(•••) of the code box. And here if you prefer Google doc.

‌Sign to your AO3 account, after that go to "Dashboard".

‌On your "Dashboard", tap on a section called "Skins".

‌On the "Skins" page, tap on the button labelled "Create Site Skin".

‌Give your site skin a unique title, i usually use 2-4 word for the skins that i saved. IF YOUR SKIN NAME IS NOT UNIQUE, YOU CAN'T SAVE THE SKIN.

‌Paste the codes you copied from my GitHub into the "CSS" box.

‌When you're done, scroll to the bottom of the page and click a button labelled "Submit". This will save your site skin and take you to a new page where you can see the title of your skin as well as all of the code.

‌Click "My Site Skin" and you can see the skin are added, press "Use" to activate it.

📜 Faded Gilt - AO3 Skin

This AO3 skin was inspired by antique books featuring elegant gold foil stamping.

Truth be told, I am not entirely satisfied with the day mode. It might not be as comfortable for extended reading as some of my past designs. However, I am absolutely in love with this purple and background color combination—it evokes the feeling of writing and sketching with purple ink on old parchment. The purple foiled motifs also carry a slightly mottled texture, as if gently faded by the passage of time. Perhaps I will update the palette if I discover a better match one day?

I actually began with the night mode and tested several color schemes. I attempted a red, gold, and black palette, but it was a miss. During the process, the contrast felt far too glaring, and the black background was suffocatingly heavy. This purple and gold, on the other hand, reminds me of the beautiful gowns of noble girls in classical oil paintings. I am truly delighted with how it finally came together.

⚙️ Quick Installation Guide

The installation process is almost identical to the famous "🌹 𝕸𝖎𝖉𝖓𝖎𝖌𝖍𝖙 𝕭𝖑𝖔𝖔𝖒 🌹" skin, but with just one extra step: the base file.

You will need to create 4 skins in total. First, create the base, the Day skin (Violet Parchment with light mode checked), and the Night skin (Gilded Velvet with dark mode checked). Finally, when creating your Master Auto-Switch Skin, add them as Parent Skins in this exact order:

Just a quick heads-up: Since this skin is highly optimized for mobile devices, the position of some decorative assets might shift slightly if you use it on a desktop or a larger screen. A Glimmer of Light Refusing to Fade by MagicSchoolbusDropout08 - a post s3, s4 rewrite, and s5 prediction fic that is possibly one of the best works ever written. nothing has ever impacted me as much as this fic and words genuinely can't describe how great it is (warning: this fic is absolutely amazing, but deals with super heavy topics so be careful with that)

a cruel summer with you by andiwriteordie, astrobi, and wiseatom - AAAGGGHHHHHHHH !! a summer camp au that literally SAVED my summer :) it has such good writing + the best playlist on earth

I Know the End by Bookinit - an incredibly long series that might just be the best thing i’ve ever read. it’s a byler rewrite of the first 4 seasons (+s5) and there are literal scripts that the author wrote to go along with it!! it’s SO insanely amazing that i literally don’t have words 😭 i recommend rewatching the show while you read the fic because it’s such a fun experience 🫶🏽🫶🏽

RESPONSIBILITY by Wheelerboi - a spideywill au that was my introduction to real writing 🫶 it’s still being updated but even so i recommend it SO much

To Hell and Back Again by perexcri - a post s4 apocalyptic fic that’s SO perfectly made. i was completely hooked the whole time i read it and read the whole thing in one go

Rock 'n' Roll by bylerisc4non - a band au that i love more than life itself. it’s longer, but so insanely worth it. the ending is actually my favorite thing ever and overall it’s just so perfect

Finally! A Good Fucking Roadtrip by Julia_Skysong - an insanely well-written sequel to Lost Without You. it’s after the events of LWY and is just as good. i LOVE the party’s dynamic so much in this and physically could not recommend it more

what can i do by delusionaltogether (Whyyyyy) - a college-age byler fic where holly completely clocks them both and saves the day. it’s so perfectly done that i genuinely have no notes

landslide by chamb3rs - a high school byler fic where the party is in their senior year and are trying to figure out their relationships and futures! this fic honestly feels just like a movie. it perfectly encapsulates that weird end-of-school-year feeling in the best way possible. it’s also so hilarious and heartwarming and i just love it SO much

snakebites and bitter tonics by willelworld - a cowboy byler au that actually makes me want to bounce off the walls because of how perfect it is. it’s based off of the game Red Dead Redemption, but you don't need to had played it before to read it

sweetheart, you’re so cruel by perexcri - a college au where will is a music snob and a writer for their school zine and mike is the frontman of a local band 🤭 it was one of my first ever bookmarks because it really is just so wonderful 🫶🏽🫶🏽🫶🏽 i absolutely love rereading it whenever i have the chance

the start of an age by delusionaltogether (Whyyyyy) - THE byler fic ever. i could not possibly love this fic any more than i do. i’m being so serious when i say that i had a small obsession with medieval times because of this fic. it’s a medieval byler au with knights, arranged marriages, and a WHOLE lot of gay people

Left His Heart There in the Sea by concerned_terrapin - a mermaid byler au (kind of?) that’s SOOOO insanely good <3 i genuinely wish i could read this again for the first time because it was seriously SUCH a fun time

wide and wild eyes - a mostly elmax-centric but still byler fic that’s just so cute and teenager-y and amazing. it feels like summer

Operation Matchmakers by midnighteverlark - a teacher byler au that is so so so so good <3 there’s a little miscommunication but in the best way

The Wonderful Whitman by gaysforbyler - a byler rewrite of The Great Gatsby that is SO insanely good i have no words. it’s literally the same amount of words as the real book (which is insane on its own) but it’s also just so perfectly well-done and i’m so in love with everything about it

haven’t even met (yet) by Pseudologia - a long distance penpal byler au where they send letters to each other and it’s so cute and sweet and amazing 🤭🤭 plus there’s just such a great plot 🫶🏽 i wish i could relive reading this for the first time
