SQQ makes LBH merch
Sickly Shen Yuan learning art because it was one of the few things he could do from a hospital bed. Shen Yuan being a passionate fan artist for PIDW, always fanart for the forgotten wives. Shen Yuan running a Tumblr account that functioned as the PIDW bestiary for a while.
Shen Qingqiu putting down his brush, not having time to paint, until after he's married.
This happens after the Resentment of Chunshan gets super popular. People start selling bad Luo Binghe merch, because obviously, who doesn't admire the big bad saintly emperor?? Shen Qingqiu, however, sees this and is immediately pissed because ?? the huadian is all wrong ?? the robes are the wrong cut, the waist isn't nearly slender enough, and Binghe's fingers are longer than that by half a centimeter?? He goes off at a random guy at a stall, who, upset, says he couldn't do better. In his indignance, Shen Qingqiu goes "TRY ME FUCKER" and goes back to the palace to demand a year's worth of paper and ink.
A few weeks later, one of his paintings sells for an absurdly high price. And no one complains, because this piece is beautiful?? It captures Lord Luo's dark, intimidating beauty, yes; but it also makes him look graceful, it makes him look sweet and protective and kind. In the image, he's holding Xin Mo (because SQQ defaults to painting badass!LBH with Xin Mo) and standing before his entire court, the sword outstretched towards the viewer, and the palace is depicted in stunning accuracy. His Empress, smug, sits at his feet (and SQQ definitely squealed over that scene for many hours while painting). Luo Binghe's hair is blowing in the wind, his eyes are soft, and his mouth looks lush and sweet in a way no one has ever captured before.People quickly demand to know who painted this masterpiece, and Shen Qingqiu vows to himself to fill this world with only the best representations of his dear husband.
Now, question— is Shen Qingqiu super shy and secretive, hiding his work from his husband?
Or is he incredibly shameless about this new hobby of his, as a true fanboy would be? He hangs up his unfinished work in their room, even paints a giant painting specifically for them, with Luo Binghe's robes cut so low that Sha Hualing would blush at the sight, his hair loose and untied and his muscles straining against his robes and the heavenly pillar clearly visible under his pants. Luo Binghe comes home from a month spent on diplomatic missions, sees his husband proudly painting his huadian on his newest paper fan, and faints. Luo Binghe sees the endlessly smug smile Shen Qingqiu has whenever they walk through the streets, arm looped through Binghe's like he's showing off, like he's saying "Look at my husband, look how much more beautiful he is than you," and dies inside. Luo Binghe wakes up to Shen Qingqiu undressing him and groping all over his chest, biting the soft parts, and passes out from a nosebleed.
