My name is Raey, but for simplicity’s sake… keep calling me Vee or simply “hysterimachines”.

Friday Pilots Club "End of It" (discovered them through a song radio back in june 2022, found them all on my own and i loved them ever since! that's my band frfr)

Sleep Token "The Summoning" (guy who i had a complicated friendship with back in january 2023 showed me this song, specifically the last part. i checked out more of their stuff and "Fall For Me" was really what got me to dive deep into the band)

Hozier "Take Me To Church" (this song was everywhere back in 2014, it was hard to avoid it. but as much as the song left a mark on me, life happened and i kinda forgot hozier existed until he released the Unreal Unearth album in august 2023. HOWEVER- "Wasteland, Baby!" was what made me be Not Normal about him back in november 2023)

Kicking it back to last year, on March 22nd I was scrolling the twitter timeline during maths when I came across a post the band made. I replied and had a small joking exchange with the band’s lead singer; and now I’ve been stuck on this train since!

The year prior to my engagement with Maelstrom Blvck, I peeked at a TikTok promoting smaller bands; and when I saw Devotee on a slide and decided to listen to their discography.

The Band Ghost “Absolution”

The first band I got into in the alt genre, this song appeared in my Youtube recommended back in 2017; I got hooked after awhile before eventually dropping it before picking the ball back up when they started gaining popularity on TikTok.
