this was a little bit explained in the qna! it’s a fully constructed language, so it is actually readable (and the words themselves are identical to english words, just written differently, which i think makes it easier)

like you said in the tags, it’s read right to left and left to right alternating by line

the symbol that looks like two stacked diamonds means that the word is plural

there is only one written vowel, and you’re (hypothetically) supposed to just figure out what to read it as based on context

iirc the moon symbol is a /k/ sound, the dots inside the moon are the vowel, and the oval-thing-with-a-tail-thing symbol is a /t/ sound. tldr in the second screenshot showing the front of the libretto, it says CATS (which i can say confidently bc like. ofc it does)

someone who is a lot better at this than i am has probably figured out the full alphabet by now, but that’s what i remember from the qna

OKAY so I’m finally powering through the autistic burnout enough to contribute this guide to the basics as I understand it. I’ll make a more detailed post later when hopefully Worthi has released more of the alphabet, but I hope this helps anyone who wants to incorporate the clownlang into their art/fics!

Some additional notes:

- no more than two sounds stack at a time, and the “universal vowel” is always at the bottom of a stack so sometimes a single consonant is by itself if a vowel comes after

- you can play pretty fast and loose with the crescent shapes so long as they're facing the proper general direction

- the two dots within the C in “Cats” seems to be more of an optional embellishment than denoting any actual sound? The only other time we see the two dots is on the D of “Clowndrew” (in image #2). Tbh I’m not entirely sure why it’s only used some times but not others but it’s the only logical explanation that keeps everything else consistent (Ian please explain more I’m begging youuuuu T_T)
