It honestly feels like forever since Karma dropped, but I finally got to sit down and listen to the full album and the Ceremony EP and here's my (mostly) unfiltered thoughts off the stickie notes I wrote them on!
--The whole vibe of Karma and Ate is still giving "our group is having an artistic transition" (that's not a bad thing)
--Sorry, I should be correct and screech the titles. 😂
--KARMA and ATE.
--Sonically the through line of the album is really cohesive.
--These guys fucking love half steps. I, too, enjoy a good half step all over the place.
--Also, Halftime halfway through the album? I see what you did there...
--Girl, I hope you're good now, that dissociative, existential crisis shit never feels good.
--As always, excellent wordplay, boyos.
--Actually, not ending the whole album on 0801 is fucking excellent...
--VERY sneaky of you with remixes to end the album and not new tracks after 0801.
--An insanely good choice psychologically. That would've given me an A in my pedagogy class back in college.
--That pure "a"/nasal combo is so wild still. 10/10 Chris, even though there's a good chance it's just the accent.
--I can't state enough how much joy it brings me as a pun/dad joke connoisseur that they have separate "hip hip" and "hooray" remixes of Ceremony.
--Also, not the Hooray version being double time lolll
--Not the full return to your edm roots! 😱😉
--What the fuck is this version clipping at? 175? 180 bpm? In English? Christ alive, that's a fucking FEAT.

If I had a nickel for every time I took a step back in this fandom during a depressive episode and came back to it on fire and Chan scolding people I’d have two nickels. Which isn’t a lot, but it’s awful that it happened twice.
