(If people were wondering, this is probably a vernal pond- a temporary body of water that typically forms after heavy rains.  They can form in the same place year after year but rarely last more than a month or two)

Attention, ADHDers who have a hard time brushing their teeth

Download Pokemon Smile. You don't need to know jack shit about (or even especially like) Pokemon to use it, and it is free. You only need a functional front-facing camera and the ability to read (or someone with you who can).

You pick a starter Pokemon and then, as you brush your teeth, the Pokemon battles purple plaque clouds in a little mouth setting for you. It uses your front-facing camera and some AR to see how you're brushing and tells you where to brush and for how long. It shows you yourself as you brush and puts a chosen hat on your head.

A wild Pokemon obscured by the clouds appears partway through and your Pokemon cleans it off as you brush.

At the end, it lets you throw a Pokéball in an effort to catch it, which you have an increasingly better chance at successfully doing the better and better you brush!

You also win little hats that get put on your head while you brush!

You can adjust settings for the amount of time it has you brushing, what hat you're wearing, and things like that. It is friendly to people of all ages and addresses that children should be surpervised. Best of all, when it asks for your gender at the very start, it has a "something else" option! It's trans- and nonbinary-friendly!

So I saw this video on tiktok and since Kiddo and I are both super bad at remembering to do things and to do lists just don't seem to work I thought this was worth a try

So the key fobs came today and I filled them out.

As you can maybe see some are specific to me and some are more specific to kiddo but most are just general chores

The bracelet things should arrive Monday and then we can give it a go during this lockdown and I can report back how well it works!

Podcastle AI - Turns any article into a podcast. This is a lifesaver for being able to process what I’m reading, to be honest.

Spelling/grammar:

LanguageTool - Spelling and grammar check for those of us who regularly type in more than one language.

Grammarly - Spelling and grammar check for those of us who only type in English. Can be used with LanguageTool installed, which is what I do.

Google Dictionary - Define any word on the webpage with a double-click.

Google Translate - Translate an entire webpage or even just a short segment.

AdGuard Adblocker - After trying quite a few adblocker options, this is the one I find the best.

The Great Suspender - Automatically suspend inactive tabs to help with performance. 

Honey - Try coupon codes automatically to save money on online purchases.

Built-in Chrome tab grouping - Group your tabs to keep organized and minimize distracting clutter.

fan fiction is SO addicting to people with ADHD because our brains aren't innattentive, they're just constantly searching out sources of dopamine because we don't produce enough on our own. fan fiction supplies us with an endless archive of free stories - long and short - containing characters we already love and we can just devour story after story after story one after another and it feels SO GOOD.
