“Hm? Oh! Right…” He couldn’t help feeling a little stupid for not realizing it………
/Obviously,/ that was what he had been taking about. The other differences didn’t matter as much… he didn’t think? “We haven’t, but I suppose this would be good to discuss now.”
Watari nodded. “Let’s go, then. Knowing L, he’s most likely in the kitchens…” with that, he led the other to the next area in the main floor, though he was sure that Lawlie knew where to go.
Of course, he couldn’t have been prepared for what he was going to see.
L… he had thought that the two would talk longer, he really did. He hadn’t expected anyone to see him… whispering to a cake… “Shh, it’s only you. I won’t love any other sweet more than you, I promise” He took a bite, licking the fork slowly before whispering again, not realizing that the two were in the doorway.
“…………….” Lawlie stayed silent for a while, simply watching.
“………Same.”
Watari honestly hadn’t even been phased, and instead just chuckled at his charge’s reaction as he realized the two were there.
“……..Lawlie.” He straightened up, wiping all the icing off his lips (though he missed a spot on his cheek) and tried to regain all the dignity he possibly could. “What are you two doing here? I thought you were still talking.”
“We were, but figured we should discuss case differences.” /Did he call him Lawlie?…../
“–Is that ice cream cake?” he asked, eyes flickering to the bit on his cheek. Without thinking, he moved over and licked it off his cheek.
“O-oh.” L moved to give them a bit more room to sit, and leaned over to answer the other.
“Yes, Watari just-” and then there was a tongue on his cheek. L jerked back, eyes widening and cheeks flaming. “Um…”
Lawlie blinked, before smiling in amusement. “Sorry. You had cake on your cheek.” He had to stop himself from doing it again /just/ to get another reaction.
L shook his head, “It’s... fine.” He shook his head again, trying to clear his mind, and turned to face the other.
“So, how has the case progressed for you so far?”
