Home made Deep Conditioner/ Hair Mask
Back again with a new recipe, now I made this with the intention to make a bulk amount to prevent me from constantly buying new deep conditioners, so if you want repeat this recipe rearrange it to your liking.
What you need: a) Coconut oil, b) Conditioner (of your choice), c) Neem oil, d) honey, e) Castor oil, f) Extra Virgin Olive oil, g) Mayonnaise, h) Unrefined Shea butter, i) Avocados, j) Container
Step 1: Add a table spoon of coconut oil, virgin oil, castor oil, honey, Mayonnaise and a tea spoon of Neem oil to a mixing bowl.
Step 2: Soften the Unrefined Shea butter by submerging the container it is in in hot water.
Step 3: Cut up the selected amount of softened Shea butter and place it into the mixing bowl.
Step 4: Scoop the Avocado
Step 5: Cut up the Selected amount of Avocado.
Step 6: Place the cut up Avocado into the mixing bowl.
Step 7:Add generous amount of conditioner.
Step 8/9: Mix with electric mixer until smooth.
The bottom left hand corner picture shows the consistency of the deep conditioner it is airy and creamy. As I mentioned earlier I made a bulk amount (bottom right hand corner) the remaining amount will be kept in the fridge until future use.
Colourful smoothies
I like to leave my fruits in water/ milk so a few days before I blend them so that the flavours get absorbed.
Temptation is not stronger than who you want to become.
# Truth #Facts
New Blender/ Mixer/ Juicer
Family's got a new toy so now I can make more smoothies, Juices, butters and creams Yay me!
Going Natural kinda makes you obsess with hair
THE L.O.C METHOD
So I have started a new method to moisturise my hair daily it is called the LOC method.
You spritz your hair with Liquid, (mine contains a mixture of oils, water and Aloe Vera juice).
Then seal it with an Oil of choice.(I use grapeseed oil)
Then to secure the moisture use a butter/ Cream.
Health Over Length
So I have trimmed my hair and braided it up, I will keep re-doing this style every 2 weeks for at least 2 months and then we will see some progress.
The perfect Twist Out
personally I am not one fore definition or defined curls but I thought I would do a bit of experimenting (can't help it I'm a Scientist). I do not usually do twist outs but I wanted to see how it would look. So I used home made flax seed gel and mixed it with Shea moisture's curl enhancing smoothie (1st picture). I did medium sized twists and they looked thick and juicy (2nd row), I set them the night before. The next day I unraveled them using grape seed oil to prevent frizz (3rd row) then fluffed it out (4th row).
I was generally happy with results, although my hair looked very defined it felt a bit crispy so next time I will add more smoothie to the gel mix.
Product Rave #2
Based on the three products I have used thus far MAHOGANY NATURALS IS THE TRUTH.
Early on in my natural hair journey I used the daily moisturising leave in treatment and it worked wonders on my hair (when I get some extra money I will have to invest in some more). I have also currently been using the super Re-constructive Rhassoul & silk amino acids shampoo bar which leaves my hair nice and clean.
But the product I want to sing praise to is the Luscious hair milk (pictured above). I had been dying to try this product when I started my natural hair journey (but during that time I was a broke student so I was on a budget). Recently Mahogony Naturals were doing a bye one get one free deal so that's when I got me some Luscious hair milk x 2. I have been using it for almost a month now and have used about 3/4 of the first bottle.I use this as a daily moisturizer and a leave in conditioner and let me tell you it leaves my hair feeling nice and soft with a gentle sweet scent.
Its retail price £13.95 which is okay I'm quite cheap when it comes to beauty and hair products but I have to admit I may have to make an exception for this.
