♦  ||       Ifthere could be a time when Hell's Kitchen could be consideredbeautiful it would be at night. Take out the scum of the low livesbelow—ignore them they don't exist in this moment—take out thenoise of traffic, the sound of voices blocked by the double glazedglass of the penthouse windows. Lights flickered off in the distance'neath the starry sky and the moon which bore silver light down uponthe thick murk of darkness that seemed to shroud the city. It wasthick and like a living shadow, hiding all the rats and disease thatwas polluting the canvas in which Fisk would build the world anew.

Itwould be the same moon which gave her light to the new, when theirwork was done and when Fisk had realized his dream. Nothing wouldlurk in the shadows, no masked vigilantes skulking about and causinghavoc in this perfect city of Fisk's.

Wesleyhad yet to look out the window, pen scratching away at some importantforms for Fisk to sign and yet when his employer's—hisfriend's—voicereached his ears it was enough to cause him to pause. Pen was setdown upon the table with a light click and papers shuffled to belooked at later. There was always work to be done but Wesley knewwhen it was also time to put it aside. The silence of the room wasbroken by the sound of a chair scraping back lightly as Wesley stoodand it was a few casual steps up to Fisk's side to glance out thewindow with him.

“Isuppose it is..” Wesley mused, pausing for a moment to glance atthe other. “But you will make it better.”

Nonethe less he merely dipped his head a little, filing away the papersonce more into his brief case.

Jess had gone out that night for a bit of relaxation, dropping in to visit the restaurant she frequented. She sat by herself, perfectly content in her own silence, until a man came over  and began talking to her. He was a sleazy sort of man, one Jess could hardly be bothered talking to, but despite her attempts to ask him to leave, he would not move. Another man approached, and she swore quietly under her breath before setting her menu down.

♦  ||       It was a rare evening that Wesley didn't have much to do. Fisk was out on a date with Vanessa, all his work was completed for the evening and rather than break into what he had to do the following day and upset his schedule he decided to go treat himself to a bottle of wine and a nice evening out.

Well he would've had there not been a disturbance the moment he'd walked in the restaurant. This was bothersome. ..

With a sigh he approached the table, putting on his best charming smile... might as well do something about it and then he can have his quiet evening.
