🕸️ Die Arachniden: . Nürnberg: In der C. H. Zeh'schen Buchhandlung, 1831-1848.. Original source Image description: Historical illustration from “Die Arachniden” depicting two long-legged arachnids labeled as Opilio albescens and Opilio rufescens. The spider-like creatures have elongated bodies and eight legs with banded patterns. Opilio albescens features a brown and tan body with a distinct striped pattern, while Opilio rufescens displays a reddish-orange body with a similar design. Surrounding detailed anatomical sketches of claws and mouthparts highlight finer species characteristics. The illustration includes handwritten figure numbers (1525 and 1526) and elegant cursive text identifying each species, presented on a pale yellowed page typical of 19th-century scientific documentation.
