ilya and shane disappeared. a good amount of the centaurs went to the bar after the game and they’re sitting in two booths, all of them engaged in conversation and not really paying attention until bood goes “so is someone gonna look for them?” and troy’s like “i’m not doing that” and bood’s like “but it’s been a while already” and dykstra chimes in “maybe they’re fucking in the restroom” and bood goes “we’ve never caught or heard them doing anything like that so it’s unlikely” and troy says “maybe they just went out for a while, you guys know how hollander gets overwhelmed with bars” and everyone at the table agrees, but wyatt goes “i’m gonna go search for them, i could use a bit of silence too” and the other guys just get up to go with him because they’re actually curious about ilya and shane. so they leave the bar and find this long alley by it side and go down it, at the end it turns left and they all find ilya and shane embraced there. just holding each other while ilya says something into shane’s ear and they’re both laughing. wyatt goes “oh i actually wanted to catch them doing something sexy” and bood slaps him and troy goes “they’re actually really cute most of the time” and bood says “let’s go, they’re fine” as he starts to leave and the guys follow him. they’re lucky (or unlucky in wyatt’s case) cus if they’d come twenty minutes earlier they would’ve walked in on their captain giving the head of his life to his husband.

That is something that is so fun about reading the books, Watson being the narrator adds so much because you slowly realize how bizarre his perspective is and how strangely grounded a lot of Holmes’s ‘strange’ behavior is. There was something so fascinatingly wrong with Sir Arthur Conan Doyle and he passed it on to his self insert.

I’ve said it before but most of what is ‘wrong’ with Holmes is largely understandable and a lot of what is wrong with Watson can be explained by him being a British man from the 19th century but there are just some things about Watson that make you go ‘Dude, what the fuck?’

Still haven't chosen if I want to study fine arts or humanities (I have to choose very quickly bc I have to start preparing for the exams, they have different exams and exam prep I can't do both)

I’m reading this book about the changing arctic and the author stayed with the Nunamiut people of inland alaska for a while and talked to this high school kid who was like “ugh I hate going to school in the spring I wish I was hunting caribou” and I thought that was charming. you often hear about people who are devoted to preserving their traditional culture and knowledge but it’s rare to hear about someone who’s invested in the old ways out of pure teenage selfishness. school is lame and hunting caribou is awesome
