Best way to deal with this: Use the pronouns a teensy bit more than you maybe feel is sufficient. Leave the fic for two days before editing (i.e. allow yourself to forget it a little). Come back and re-read. If at any point YOU canāt tell whoās doing what to whom, put names in. Leave the rest of the pronouns.
Also, for dialogue: use characterization instead of names. Let it be clear by the things that are said, the way they are said, who is saying them.
Readers are smart, let them infer sometimes. :)

Okay so a friend of mine and I were getting coffee and we were talking about some of the most interesting questions to ask your characters. Here is a list of our top 5 favorites.

Diverse and interesting characters are key to a memorable story. Use these points as a base for your character and throw them into any plot you want.
I know Iāve talked about this before, but Iām really sick of seeing writers who should know better say things like, āTragedy is more compelling than stories where characters have a nice day and nothing bad happens!ā without understanding why.
Tragedy is an effective story element when itās a deviation from the norm. A characterās peaceful existence is disrupted by a catastrophic event that throws everything into chaos. The character now has to either develop so they can cope with the new status quo, or find a way to put things back the way they were. Thereās a good story in that.
But when a characterās life is an unrelenting cavalcade of misery, another heaping dose of shit isnāt all that interesting. At that point, a compelling deviation from the norm would be said character having a nice day where nothing bad happens. And modern fiction is chock-full of misery porn, so by this logic, itās no wonder the coffee shop AU is such a popular fanfiction trope.
Derek Hale getting a dog and putting his life back together is way more interesting than Derek Haleās life getting worse for the 26th consecutive episode. Creators like to hold upĀ āeverything is fine and nobody diesā as a sign that fanfic is bland and badly written, but if anything, itās an indicator that mainstream fiction is bland and badly written.Ā

Okay so I came up with this great AU idea and I decided I'm gonna post it here so here you go
Imagine a charm necklace AU.
Everyone gets a charm necklace at birth with one charm on it. This charm being a small plate with the personās birth date on it.
Throughout their lives, they find more charms scattered about in their daily life. One in their bookbag, another in the bottom of a cup of coffee, just showing up wherever theyāll find them.
Now imagine each charm representing a significant life event in the near future.
Some are obvious, like a coffin indicating that they will have a secondhand experience with death soon. Some are more cryptic and require more thought. The individual can decipher what each charm means for themselves, or they can just wait for destiny to take its course.
But what about soulmates, you may ask?
Soulmate charms are themed after whoever your soulmate is. For example, if your soulmate is passionate about cats, you might find a charm of a cat or a ball of yarn. Something along those lines.
Soulmate charms come in two varieties: platonic and romantic. Platonic soulmate charms have a diamond, romantic soulmate charms have a heart. Sometimes the charm will also have the soulmateās favorite color in it, or maybe the first letter of their name.
When someone dies prematurely, their necklace breaks in half and scatters the charms. Old age deaths only occur after the necklace can only hold one more charm: a small plate with the personās death date on it.

Florida: Psychological Trauma suffered on the job is still a work injury and should be covered by Workers Comp
Gerry Realin helped pull 49 bodies out of Pulse nightclub June 12. That night has haunted him and made him unable to work.
After the worst mass shooting in US history Police officer Gerry Realin rushed in to help the surviving victims of the Pulse nightclub shooting. A lone gunman had opened fire on the Orlando gay bar June 12, killing 49 people, Realin helped remove bodies from the club.
His wife has stated, āWhen he got home, 2:30 the next morning, he came in very quiet ā¦ looked at both of our kids, then went in the shower and just lost itā¦ And he didnāt stop crying. The next day, it was on and off. And itās just been really hard.ā
āThe man that left my house that morning did not come back to me that night,ā Jessica Realin said. āHeās still not back.ā
Although Realin returned to work two weeks after attack, he struggled to recover, taking frequent days off. The patrolman drained his vacation time and sick days before being placed on paid leave, but he isnāt sure how long that will last. Ā
Under Florida law, those who experience psychological trauma on the job are not entitled to paid days off or to have their medical bills reimbursed by their employer.
Because of this, he has had his workers compensation claim denied by the state, leaving him in a precarious situation, with the Realinās having to begin relying to donations to cover the cost of his care and time off.
Officer Realin suffered trauma while on the Job, he walked into the worst mass shooting in US History to help people and walked out of work needing medical attention and the state of Florida is abandoning him.
This is just a snapshot of a larger problem, psychological issues are medical issues and should be covered by workers compensation plans.
So, we are calling on the State of Florida to change workers compensation laws to include psychological trauma.
