Fiber arts update! Spun up a sample of merino/silk mix to test out some colors

Peter Locke's spindles and silk mixes are a perfect match; silk mixes want to be spun fine, and this guy's signature drop spindles really want to spin fine and very fast. This one's a relatively new acquisition, a bottom-whorl, and I adore it. Plus, that darker wood stripe is SO helpful for seeing how fast the spindle is spinning!

As for the yarn: this is specifically a color test for a leaf-patterned shawl; figuring out if this stuff gets me a consistent-enough color to not lose the pattern definition. If this is the stuff I go with, I'd almost be tempted to make it a spindle project - but man, that'd take forever.

Either way, gonna bracelet-ply this stuff soon; any actual knitting yarn would likely have to be 3-ply, but I refuse to try and chain-ply lace-weight worsted singles, and splitting a sample in three felt silly.

It was funny walking into the movie theater and seeing every single screen dedicated to Backrooms and Obsession, save for one single screen showing Star Wars.

Not that I think all marriages are doomed but when deciding who to marry you should ask yourself “is this someone I’d want to divorce?” As in, is this someone I believe would be mature and fair, even when they’re upset and don’t particularly like me at the moment. Is this someone I could continue to trust while going through an adversarial process? And if the answer is no, don’t marry them.
