Rob Zombie confirmed for coll fuckinâ guy
ROB ZOMBIE CONFIRMED FOR COOLEST FUCKING GUY
i love that Rob Zombie is now Baby Metalâs badass protective grandpaÂ
but on a more serious note, here are some gender-neutral terms for the person youre dating: datefriend, significant other, boo, lover, cuddle goblin, me lil chicken nugget, person i hate slightly less than the rest of you, partner, other half, soulmate, sweetheart, Palâą, corn cob, companion
âThese episodes donât scream âTECHNOLOGY IS BAD!!!â Theyâre not too far removed from contemporary life, and theyâre not too familiar, either. Instead, they quietly, diligently burrow into the heart of whatâs so terrifying about tech to begin with: our tendency to make stuff that caters to our worst selves. And that, friends, is what dystopian sci-fi is all about. â - (x)
about me - 4/? fave tv shows: Black Mirror (2014-?)
i see your ânowhere in the nursery rhyme does it say humpty dumpty was an eggâ and raise you ânowhere in the legendarium does tolkien say that elves have pointed earsâ
Mary Shelley didnât give the monster bolts.
Arthur Conan Doyle never put Holmes in a deer stalker (also âelementary my dear Watsonâ is never said in the books, and he doesnât smoke a curved pipe)
There are boys at Beauxbatons and girls at Durmstrang schools
Edgar Allan Poe wrote the earliest essay on the big bang theory

fuck this site I thought the tv show for the briefest of seconds and the shit machine in my skull thought âquoth the raven âBazongoâ
Since Vineâs gonna die, here are some great queer vines from Thomas Sanders
I hate this vines because people applaud this guy for being so âprogressiveâ and âsupportiveâ but really heâs just using queerness as a punchline. Itâs basically âwow look! You didnât expect this person to be queer! Hilarious!! Thatâs the joke!!â
And then he gets millions and millions of likes and followers and praise just for that. People treat him like some kind of saint just for this. Itâs pretty stupid.
first of all: sanders is bisexual. he himself is queer (if he identifies in that way)
secondly: I think itâs less about âlol theyâre queerâ and more about subverting the assumption that everyone is straight. The marriage proposal vine really hammers in this concept; one man is trying to propose to another and outsiders keep declaring that the relationship is platonic (even though it is not).
He also directly tackles his bisexuality in this compilation as well; showing that he is attracted to men and women, and when asked whether he is gay or straight, he answers in the affirmative simultaneously. Bisexuality is often misunderstood and erased; some people do not even consider it possible to be attracted to multiple genders.
third: queer people are allowed to be involved in comedy. weâre allowed to parody ourselves. especially if weâre subverting pre-existing tropes
This series of videos by @thatsthat24 is on the level of that old riddle:
A kid and his dad are in a horrible car accident and the dad dies. The son is barely clinging to life. A bystander rushes him to the nearest hospital. They put the kid on the operating table and the doctor recoils in horror. âI canât operate on this boy! Heâs my son!â How?
The answer to the riddle, of course, is that the surgeon is the boyâs mother. This riddle doesnât work as well as it used to because thatâs no longer such an outlandish idea.
The point isnât, âOh my god! A WOMAN doctor???â The point is to make the listener go, âOh, holy shit, I just naturally assumed the doctor was a man.â Itâs parody and humor as a way to access critical thinking about societal standards and what we assume is the âdefault.â
I try to do this all the time in my books, though Iâm neither as adept at it as the riddle nor as funny as Thomas Sanders. Scene after scene features my protagonist going up against âa guardâ or âa soldier,â and halfway through the fight scene I then refer to the guard as âher.âÂ
The number of emails I get from readers who are thrown by that ⊠which, of course, normally you never want to throw your reader out of the reading experience, but I do it intentionally just to challenge them. Because Iâm a fantasy geek myself and I know theyâre walking into my fantasy novel assuming that 90% of the characters are straight white dudes. And thatâs an expectation that needs to change.

History wants so badly for Cleopatra to be beautiful. Like they canât conceive of Rome being intimidated by anything less
because being a linguist, fleet commander, and powerful ruler doesnât matter, only her looks
Her Arab contemporaries raved about her being very interested and knowledgeable in the sciences.
She completely reformed the system in Alexandria, and Egypt at large; making it much more of a functional powerhouse.Â
She did what 300 years of her ancestors couldnât: Managed to get the support of both the Greek AND Egyptian subjects she ruled.
There is a sculpture that has been identified as her, through comparisons to coins minted under her rule, that proves beyond a doubt that she wasnât particularly beautiful.
It isnât that people just happen to believe it by mistake. Rome was fucking terrified of her and painted her as a vapid, scheming, beautiful, sex obsessed queen to discredit her to their people. She was a threat, and that was how they handled it. The unfortunate thing is that that is the most surviving record of her. A smear campaign against one of the smartest, most powerful women in human history.Â
This is a woman who became her fatherâs co-ruler at nearly 14 years old in order to train for her actual ascension to the throne, who was forced to marry her own siblings in order to keep her power, and itâs widely believed that she poisoned them so she could rule alone. Sheâs a Pharaoh who led Egypt into a new era of wealth, who went fearlessly into war to protect her rule and Egyptâs independence from the Roman empire, a woman who took her own life rather than face being raped and tortured by her conquerors, knowing full well that she was leaving her surviving children in their uncertain mercy. Cleopatra is one of the most interesting, morally ambiguous, complexing historical figures we have and the media has turned her into a tantalizing sex object for the male gaze.
Even after Cleopatra died her influence on those around her lived on: her daughter, Cleopatra Selene, was the only child of Cleopatraâs to live to adulthood, and she became queen of Mauretania along with her husband Juba and itâs believed they married for love, which was extremely rare for that time period, especially among nobles/the upper class. Not only did she grow up in the house of her motherâs worst enemy and technical murderer, but she still went on to become a queen who possessed an equal amount of political power as her husband, even having her face minted on coins on the opposite side of his likeness, showing they were equal rulers.
Cleopatra and her influence on history, and her daughterâs legacy, have both been brushed aside in favour of the sexy Cleopatra visage. Itâs bullshit. Egyptian mythology is interesting and vivid, and full of powerful women and itâs bullshit that we take some of the most powerful women in Africaâs history and try to turn them into fashion icons or sluts who only ruled through toying with men.Â
I LIVE FOR PEOPLE TO KNOW THIS, people still refuse to believe that a woman can/could have achieved anything without beauty or fucking magical powers Â
