My day was awesome until I remembered about Robb Starkđ§ââď¸
at one point they were young and truly in love, and thatâs really just heartbreaking
CHORUS: Brave girl. KASSANDRA: People never say that to a lucky person, do they? â Aeschylus, Agamemnon (trans. Anne Carson)
"Do as you're told, sweetling, it won't be so bad. Wolves are supposed to be brave, aren't they?" âASOS, Sansa III

A CLASH OF KINGS, JON III
The Stark Children (Book Version)
From left to right: Robb, Jon, Sansa, Arya, Bran, Rickon
âOh,â Sansa whispered in perplexity. âI made a terrible mistake. Oh gods, I've been such a fucking idiotââ
ââwhen you put it that wayââ
ââhow could I have been so shortsightedââ
ââI would say desperateââ
ââjust a stupid girl who never learnsââ
âânow I think you are being too harshââ
ââwe need to go back.â
âWhat? No!â Arya exclaimed, looking alarmed. âWe canât!â
Chapter 7 of Your Eternal Lies is out! Check it here on AO3.
Jon flexed the fingers of his sword hand. The Nightâs Watch takes no part. He closed his fist and opened it again. What you propose is nothing less than treason. He thought of Robb, with snowflakes melting in his hair. âŚÂ He thought of Bran, clambering up a tower wall, agile as a monkey. Of Rickonâs breathless laughter. Of Sansa, brushing out Ladyâs coat and singing to herself. âŚÂ He thought of Arya, her hair as tangled as a birdâs nest. â A Dance With Dragons
This is probably my favorite of the times when Jon thinks about Sansa, because it specifically involves her singing.
Any examples of her other siblings thinking of her love of songs and romance is accompanied by exasperation â for example, Bran telling Meera that his sister Sansa likes the kissing songs âbut those are stupid,â and, well, almost any time Arya thinks about Sansa ever. Bran and Arya love their sister very, very much, make no mistake, but it seems that her love of âkissing songsâ is something they merely tolerated about her.
But in the passage above, Jon is pointedly thinking of fond memories of his siblings, of things about them that made him happy. He thinks of adventurous Bran climbing everywhere, of Rickonâs joyous little boy laugh, of Arya being so wild that her hair was always like a birdâs nest⌠and he thinks of Sansa singing.
It was something he liked about her, something that made him happy, a memory he had fondly kept in his heart.
Another passage that suggests Jon likes Sansaâs dreamy, romantic side:
So there is magic beyond the Wall after all. He found himself thinking of his sisters, perhaps because heâd dreamed of them last night. Sansa would call this an enchantment, and tears would fill her eyes at the wonder of it, but Arya would run out laughing and shouting, wanting to touch it all. â A Clash of Kings
Here he imagines the reaction of both his sisters, and though he contrasts Sansaâs romantic reaction with Aryaâs more joyous and boisterous one, he seems to think of each girlsâ reaction with equal fondness.
Jon and Sansaâs ideas of their future families are two halves of the same dream.
In Sansa II of ASOS: âShe would name them Eddard and Brandon and Rickonâ ⌠âIn Sansaâs dreams, her children looked just like the brothers she had lost. Sometimes there was even a girl who looked like Arya.â
 and then
In Jon XII:Â âI might someday hold a son of my own blood in my arms. A son was something Jon Snow had never dared dream of, since he decided to live his life on the Wall. I could name him Robb.â
Jon imagines a child named Robb, the way that Sansa imagines children like their other three siblings. Not to mention that for Sansa to have a child that looks like Arya, her best option would be a father with the Stark look (not that Sansa would have any trouble with that), conversely that if Jon wanted a child who looked like Robb he would need a mother with a more Tully look.
"Sansa pitied them. Sansa envied them."
