How I think the Dance could've ACTUALLY been avoided.

If we were already at the point where Viserys is still alive, but all his kids are born.

If we wanted Rhaenyra to ascend the throne (A slightly-pro black argument but everyones happy)

FUCKING FIRSTLY, not marrying Rhaenyra to Laenor. I understand where it comes from, trying to unite the houses, but it truly wasn't nessesary- although he will be used.

I think marrying Rhaenyra off as early as he did was a mistake, even if she was of age. She was always rebellious and he needed to let her grow, and mature first- though with a SHARP hand.

Secondly, sending word to every major lord of westeros for every son born that he is resolute in his desicion of heir and their support of Rhaenyra better not fucking change (This idea will circle back around later with the children)

Thirdly, arranging marriages for all of his sons. This doesn't need to happen right away, but it does need to happen. I think they do need to marry within the family somehow since they're all only half. I'll explain who they'll marry later.

I would've married Rhaenyra off at eighteen instead, and not to Laenor, but to Gwayne Hightower. I know this is a popular ship but honestly, it MAKES SENSE.

Otto, his hand, feels as if his blood surrounds the throne, even if it wasn't through Alicent. His daughter was a Queen and his son will be a King- he won. And because he won, he'd have literally no reason to risk it all on a gamble everything on a rebellion. A non-incestuous marriage that brings the faith closer to the thone will satisfy The Faith. Now, we know there was never a situation where Rhaenyra wasn't upset with Alicent for marrying her father, despite that not being Alicents fault- but I think with giving Rhaenyra two years to reconnect with her, and watch her have kids without a thought of her own, would truly help. It would give her a chance to get to know them without viewing them as her childrens competition- she'd know them as her siblings. Viserys could've done much more to facilitate happy relationships with them. And has Rhaenyra and Alicent reconnect, that will become easier. I think they both would've bonded (Lesbianically) over Viserys' death, and Alicent would've supported Rhaenyra as heir as her "best friend" and sister-in-law.

Making Rhaenyra wait until she's 18 means Aegon would've been about 2 ans Helaena 1, with Aemond probs on the way (They're closer in age in the show) and Gwayne likely wouldn't push her to have heirs earlier than she wanted- and she'd feel safer in that position knowing her inheritance was entirely safe and undisputed.

At this point, everyone is lowkey happy. Rhaenyra's kids COULD still come out without silver hair, much like Daeron in the show (if it's not dyed, I still think it is.) And it wouldn't be a question, because of Gwayne- I also think he'd be the type to shut that shit down quick. But I also believe Alicent wouldn't have fed into it since that's her brother, and nephews, and bestttt friendddd.

In the books he's 2 years her senior and I think in the show they're either the same age or Rhaenas like, a year older than him. I think Rhaenyra could make Daeron her Master of Laws, so that he and Rhaena were still relevant politically. His time in Oldtown learning under Ormund and in the literal Citadel would give him a fair amount of experience for this role. Their children would marry any of Aegons or Jacaerys' children if need be, or marry into an outside house to strengthen ties.

I'd marry Aegon to the Baratheon girl Aemond was meant to marry- Then I'd have their kids marry back into the Targaryen line so their kids could be given dragon eggs and be 3/4 Valyrian. Possibly one to Joffreys and then another to Jacaerys' children. I also chose this because of the theory surrounding House Baratheons beginnings. With this we get Rhaenyras true original threat to the throne in a Lord consort position, with his children directly Inheriting Storms End.

I'd marry Helaena and Laenor. Corlys still expects heirs through Laenor, so thats a separate issue entirely. But I think genuinely they'd both be chill never having kids and having Daemion ascend the Driftwood Throne as Vaemond wishes. Daeron Velaryon would still marry Hazel Harte and have Denaera, who would likely marry one of Jacaerys sons- and have a situation similar to what they planned for Rhaenyra and Laenor, the first born son will obviously take the name Targaryen and the second born would be named. A Velaryon through his mother and ascend the Driftwood Throne when his tome came.

As for Aemond, I truly believe with dynamics being different that the kids wouldn't have been as hateful towards eachother. I think Laena's fate was unavoidable and tragic, but Aemond would still claim Vhagar. I think all the dragons would stay the same as they are now. But Aemond would likely also become a Dragon-knight. I think that would be a good tradition to start, to have expendable dragonriders (I truly hate saying that but it's true) at the ready should war reach the now united Crown. He would need purpose though, I'd make him the Master-at-arms for Rhaenyra children and a gauranteed spot at Rhaenyras small council as Lord Commander of the Kingsguard.

I think with Laenas death the only thing I'd change is Rhaenyra and Daemon killing her husband and marrying. I think Daemon would get un-banned but Rhaenyra would be in a good standing politically and have no reason to give that up for a girlhood crush. I also think her and Gwayne could've grown to love each other anyways.

So, Daemon could be at least reinstated as Commander of the City Watch (Gold cloaks) to give him purpose under the crown. His daughters are marrying in and his whispers reach the queens ear. He'll hate it but he'll live.

As for my opinion, I think you nailed it with Rhaenyra’s position.

But I fear a Dance wouldv’e occurred with this, if not the same.

This doesn’t deal with - 1/ Daemon who here has no reason to stop being Rhaenyra’s rival. 2/ the Velaryon being too powerful with too little a reward in Corlys eyes.

And that is the sad beauty of this tragedy. Very little could’ve prevented a form of internal war.

So a lot of dragons look similar in httyd and I don't think it's insane to assume some are in the same genus. I want talk about Night Furies, Light Furies, Sand Wraiths, Woolly Howls, and even Flightmares (though much more distantly, maybe a distant cousin)

They're all obviously built very similarly- sleek builds, all built for bursts of speed and stealth. Think sprinters instead of distance runners.

Night Furies are built for stealth in the night; they're obviously naturally nocturnal, but they more than likely reside in caves. Obviously, caves are dark. Not much light, and Night Fury scales are matte (remember that) and don't reflect light very well. If you look at Toothless and his scales, he's really jagged, like caves. His dorsal spines, ear fins, gular spikes, and femoral ridges look very similar to jagged rocks in caves. They also literally have echolocation abilities. The sleek, lightweight build makes it easy for them to manuever through caves quickly.

In massive contrast, Light Furies are like the exact opposite. They evolved for high atlitude mountains. They're smoothe like undisturbed snow and their scales are naturally reflective as opposed to Night Furies- this is why Toothless had such a hard time going "invisible" in httyd3. Just like Night Furies move quickly through caves, Light Furies bodies allow them to move swiftly through mountain ranges.

Her ability to cloak herself with her plasma blasts (light meets heat makes heatwaves make light scatter, her scales being naturally reflective make this much easier- the heat makes light bend. Just a quick explanation for those who thought it was entirely fictional- its very dramatic but still logical) makes her literally impossible to see in snowy mountain ranges covered in fog and low clouds. As opposed to a night fury where the reflection would only bring unwanted attraction.

You can also look at her one long dorsal fin in contrast to Toothlesses multiple dorsal spines. His would break up his silhouette in caves, and also disrupt airflow making tight turns easier. While the Light Furies minimize drag making her faster in open air, and it mimics snow dunes.

And now we look at the Sand Wraith. Obviously extremely similar in build but are adapted to beaches (I originally thought deserts but they're tidal class). Notice the consistency of the species all being one colour with minimal deviance; night fury always black, light fury always white, sand wraith always light brownish to blend in with the sand.

Their sleek builds, like the two furies, allows them to burrow into the sand with minimal difficulty. You can also see they're more spikey where the other two where more fleshy. Like toothless ear fins- they're thicker, fleshy, and protective. While Sand Wraiths are long, thin, and would have no problem maneuvering through sand. The Sand Wraiths spikes are passive tools for camouflage and such, while the Night Furies are sensory tools- they use them for emotional displays.

We don't know much about the Sand Wraith besides what we're told through the games. They are confirmed in the live action though.

Next, Woolly Howls. Another one that's solely in the games and a bit of a reach.

They're obviously very similar in build- again we see their sleek build, built obviously for agility and speed. They're best suited for heavy snow storms and such. The fur-looking scales obviously provide protection but also to break up wind and snow in storms. Could also provide insulation for freezing tempratures. Again...they probably reside in ice caves or snow banks. Either burrowers like Sand Wraiths or cave dwellers like Night Furies. Aside from its physical description we really don't have much on Woolly Howls.

I dunno if I mentioned this but all of these dragons are consistently described as highly intellegent.

And now my biggest reach of all, the Flightmare!!!

Now this doesn't make sense because they're herbavores. The rest of these dragons are carnivores.

The Flightmare does although use stealth and surprise like the rest of them. They're agile, with sort of similar builds, and are extremely fast- it kept pace with Toothless with ease. They're also highly intellegent and have a rounded head like the other four. All five of them also individually developed features to reduce aerodynamic noise.

I have nothing else for the flightmare I was seriously reaching el oh el.

It is going to get so much worse and we are only 7 months into this mans presidency. We have over three years left. - Trump was impeached for sending an attack on the capitol building. That was a terrorist attack. Everyone involved, including trump, is a terrorist.

- Trump built both of his presidential campaigns on demonizing hispanic immigrants & promisimg to deport them.

- Trump has repeatedly admitted to rigging the 2024 election.

- Trump has said multiple times he will run for a 3rd term, and many republican politicians have backed this idea- that is unconstitutional.

- Trump, having seen how "well" the deportations were going (They're removing people with hispanic last names from government systems. They're taking people off the streets with no reason. They're refusing to let tourists in if they have social medias saying negative things about the president. And so much more.) Has said multiple times that the "homegrowns" are next.

The SAVE Act bars people with last names that don't match their birth certificate / passport (passports are easy $300 a pop btw) from voting. What group of people don't have their own last names, just the names of the men that came before them? Again aith the blurry lawmaking, they wanted this to happen! State Rep Maxine Dexter introduced an amendment that would force them to clarify that married women could still vote- republicans blocked it. They 👏 do 👏 not 👏 want 👏 you 👏 to 👏 vote 👏
