My Raven!Neil has a British accent.
It's really easy to lose yourself in the Nest and pretty quickly you start behaving as a machine gear rather than as an individual. Neil understood really early on that what made you different made you stronger, that's why they'd try to take it away from you. So he started going back to his mother's accent; a detail small enough for people to not notice he had switched but big enough for Neil.
Riko hates it because he is convinced Neil used to talk in an American accent when he joined the Ravens, but he has no proof and Neil has gaslighted everyone else. His accent gets him into trouble at first but Neil never gives it up.
So, yeah, Raven!Neil yelling "oi" and "mate" and "bloody hell" and "cheers" and all that stuff. But you know why all this is important?
Because if Neil says it, so does Jean. Because Jean is learning English through Neil so that's what he's repeating. So then you have Jean saying "bloke" and "blimey" and "innit" in his thick French accent and... And I think that's beautiful in a weird and special kind of way.
