“how did you get into writing” girl nobody gets into writing. writing shows up one day at your door and gets into you
"how did you get into writing" girl i've been tormented by the visions since i was eight years old
alright I've got to do some quick math to explain attitudes towards AI to my boss.
we're looking to create an AI policy, and when we were talking about this, my boss (older millennial) was genuinely shocked to hear that younger people do not (seem) to view AI positively (a la the recent commencement speakers being booed)
please rb for larger sample size!
Question 1/3
What is your age, and do you feel AI is a net positive or net negative in our lives today?
under 18, AI is a net positive
under 18, AI is a net negative
18-29, AI is a net positive
18-29, AI is a net negative
30-45, AI is a net positive
30-45, AI is a net negative
46-60, AI is a net positive
46-60, AI is a net negative
over 60, AI is a net postive
over 60, AI is a net negative
Question 2/3
How often do you visit or interact with museums/archives (whether in person or online)?
Frequently (multiple times per month)
Often (multiple times per year)
Occasionally (a couple times per year)
Rarely (once every couple of years)
Never :(
Question 3/3
If you saw a museum was using AI in exhibits, marketing, research, etc., would you be more or less inclined to visit that museum?
under 18, more inclined
under 18, less inclined
18-29, more inclined
18-29, less inclined
30-45, more inclined
30-45, less inclined
46-60, more inclined
46-60, less inclined
over 60, more inclined
over 60, less inclined
Thank you for helping with this data collection. Please rb for as big a sample as possible!

There's a layer of playing dnd that's really just getting together with your friends and hanging out. It's an excuse to sit at a table with people you otherwise don't see very often, for 4-6 hours, every week or so. That's not available in most social settings. But I also want to play dnd while I'm here.
So thank you for showing me the collection of tiktoks you've saved since last week. If you will look to your left, there's a nefarious plot happening that I would like to be involved with.
Yes your boss is a shithead. He was a shithead last week and the week before, too. You know who else is a shithead? The cult leader we're trying to kill. We rolled initiative five minutes ago, while you were telling me about your boss.
Yeah man I wanna hang out. I love hanging out with you. But we're playing dnd right now, because the people who are capable of planning a get together wanted to play dnd and you asked if you could join. If you wanna plan something else that isn't dnd you can do that and I might come. Maybe not. Life is like that. But like we're playing dnd right now. So if you want to come to dnd night to hang out with us it would be really cool if you would play dnd at the dnd night you asked if you could join.
Stop showing me tiktoks.
awww the like button turns into a rainbow when you press it! that's so cute...hey staff what's with all the trans women you keep nuking?
i think we should be ridiculing them more for this. you don't get to try and go all "queer website" when your staff likes to go on nuking sprees targeting the trans fem users
would be remiss not to mention that the rainbow notably straight up just removed the trans flag colors from it. like they’re gone. it’s the progress flag minus the trans flag colors.
that’s not the whole flag, now is it
hey staff what the fuck
hey staff don't you think you're being too on-the-nose
HEY STAFF DONT YOU THINK YOU'RE BEING TOO ON-THE-NOSE
I think that if companies have personhood under the law, then we need to figure out how to charge them for serial killing. Sure, first couple cases can be settled, but after, say four or five cases where the death can be linked directly to them, a case needs to be opened for serial killing. Or in cases where all of the witnesses suddenly commit suicide before trial, as a total random not at all applicable example.
My favorite scenes in the LotR books are the ones where Legolas has vital information and just decides it's not important to share.
Like when Gandalf spent literal PAGES trying to figure out why the vibes were off in Moria and Legolas chimes in with just "it's a balrog :) that shit's evil :) we're so fucked :)" like what do you MEAN you knew already and just didn't tell him??
Or at the beginning of Two Towers when Aragorn thinks there's something nearby so he puts his ear to the ground to listen, and then like 10 minutes later is like "hmmm i hear horses" and Legolas is just like "mm yep. there are 105 blond bitches with spears" like you just let your friend put his face in the dirt and you can SEE them??
Legolas please gain a sense of urgency
It's because legolas hasn't spent enough time with non-elves to remember that they don't know what he knows.
gandalf is scratching his head in moria, and legolas is thinking "oh man, the wizard noticed something off *besides* the obvious balrog that we all are aware of??"
"I wonder what aragorn is listening for? must be hard to hear, what with all of the horses. How many horses are there, actually? 1... 2... 3..."
"What do your elvish eyes see?" is Aragorn saying, as politely as possible, "Because the REST OF US are at a significant disadvantage, Prince Dipshit."
2 days ago, saw a cat in the old storage area. Set up food, water, and a camera.
Yesterday, realize i didnt set the camera up right. Correct that.
Today, picture proof that the cat is eating the food, however its at night and far away, so its difficult to tell what state she's in. Discuss this with my dad's friend and get offered a free live trap rather than renting from the shelter.
Tomorrow's plan, if she shows up on camera again i will borrow the live trap and set it up in the evening. Check it early morning, if i catch her, make sure there's no signs of kittens, take her to the shelter for shots and then back home so i can find her owner or a new home (or keep)
okay. Day. four? Got confirmation i can use the trap, but can't get it till tomorrow. Cat showed up on camera last night, i put less food out tonight so she'll be more hungry. Doesnt look like she has babies from the camera, but not 100% sure of course. If she is i have suspicions as to where the babies are. Vet confirmed they can look for a microchip for free, shelter confirmed they'll do shots and spaying for 35$
Tomorrow i can sleep in(till 6), next day i get up around 3am
day five. Why is my camera completely dead.
Because the cat spent 20 or so minutes relaxed and grooming right in front of it.
day five evening. Got the trap, not sure it's the right size. So it's set up with padding on the bottom and food inside, but rigged to stay open and not trap.
This will accomplish two things. One, i can compare the cat size to the trap in photos tomorrow morning. Two. This is (according to the file i got from the shelter) a legit method called false trapping, to get the cat to trust the trap and be willing to go inside.
Tomorrow will depend on multiple things. Is it big enough? If not i have to go borrow one from the shelter. money :( . Will she go inside? If so, i can set up a live one the next night. If not, we will just have to be patient about it.
Other discovery. The shelter will only spay and vaccinate if the cat acts feral. If she's just a stray, they will charge 100$ (my main concern is the vaccines, in which case if she acts more like a stray and i dont find an owner, taking her to the travelling vet clinic may be cheaper)
day. 6? Day 6.
Stopped by shelter, they informed me that my current trap is fine, just an older model. Also that, as i dont (currently) own the cat, she still qualifies to get spayed and shots for cheap, as they really dont want more litters in the area. Got newspaper from a neighbor and set the trap tonight. Hoping it's enough to wake me up, but set an alarm for when i expect her to be eating.
I couldnt actually see her in the false trap last night, my camera didnt register that as movement, but nothing else came by to eat the food so it should be her. Hopefully tomorrow I have her.
Im showering tonight in case she is less friendly than I think and I temporarily lose my bathroom privilages to her
good news. Day 7. Turns out she is already ear tipped. Unfortunately I never got close enough to see that, so I'm going to call the shelter, let them know, and possibly put her back.
(If she's ear tipped it likely means she's part of a trap and release program)
But oh is she so tiny and pretty. I thought she was bigger from a distance
Day 7, I forgot to update (it's actually Day 9 now)
After getting confirmation from the shelter I herded her into a carrier (she was actually a lot more friendly than I expected from a stray, reminded me of when I caught a robin as a kid) took her back to where I caught her and let her free. Soon as she saw I was far enough away she booked it. I do wish I'd been able to keep her, but unfortunately with a lot of ferals it'd be too stressful on her, like trying to keep a wild bird. Once my job (finally.) starts paying me, I'll probably pick up some cheap(er) cat food to leave for her. (I cannot afford to feed her my indoor cats food, I can barely afford to feed them it)
So ends the cat trap saga.

i need to come up with a way to say “i mean like, movies for grownups” that doesn’t make me feel like a villain
*peeks in the replies* *gets really nervous and locks my house up and leaves*
well, i mean more like La Piscine or Mulholland Drive,
i think i am going insane
Apparently it is impossible for Tumblr users to think of a not ageist way to describe their tastes, because everything must always be compared to how inferior children are -- despite the fact that it is pretty much never the choice of any child or children when media aimed at them is dumbed down etc.
Things when bad: kids and children are involved!
Things when good: this is very Adult this is specifically Adult only Adults can understand or want this
i literally just don’t want to watch Kung Fu Panda
okay we’ve come all the way back around. let’s pack this up. this post is done. “who asked” you just walked into my post that i made on my blog..? who asked YOU?? am i losing my fucking mind?????
"I want to watch movies where the writers assume the audience can handle complex themes and sensitive material."
"Do you mean porn? Or are you being ageist? You're ageist if you don't like Kung Fu Panda."
okay . So i know you said you want to pack up this post. But first can i recommend that if you go to your local library and tell them that you're looking for movies/shows ala your og examples, they'll be able to help you out pretty quickly.
And im not sure if all libraries have it, but in most cases I've found they also have an online form where you can give examples and ask for related content.
(Realized after typing this that you weren't looking for recs but were asking how to describe your prefered genre. Still would like to reccomend library for if you do want to find more. But yeah that is a conundrum. My kneejerk reaction was to describe it as 'movies intended for a mature audience' which is correct but... probably would be taken the wrong way.)

$5000 seems like a nice amount. Somebody should just give me $5000 today. Directly into my bank account. It would be very nice.
