Thank you to everyone who voted! The theme for Zukaang Week 2025 will be Soulmates.
This year, we organized prompts related to each other into a group for each day, with three prompts per group.
For example, on June 26, the group is "Bond" and the related prompts are "Unspoken/Interrupted/Unbreakable." The group name "Bond" is not intended as a prompt, but you are free to use it as a prompt if you'd like!
You can pick as many prompts from the group as you'd like, whether it's one, two, or all three. We don't expect you to use all three prompts for a specific day.
And while the theme inspired the prompts, fanworks do not have to be related to the idea of soulmates - they can be about anything, as long as it's Zukaang!
Before you get started, please read the Rules & FAQ

long answer (forgive my broken English, I can't talk blah blah blah):
Zuko & Katara have one of the best developed friendships on the series and that's it for me, FRIENDS. two friends who found comfort in facing the issue head on and accepting the reality and letting go of the anger, Zuko means so much to Kataras character arc and vice versa
Zuko taking a lightning strike to save Katara from it, Katara trying to heal his wound during that one scene despite the fact that Zuko attempted to capture Aang many times she still attempted to use the source of healing any wound on him, because she understood him,
Zuko supports Katara without pushing her, helping her confront her grief and anger. Unlike others, he doesn’t try to heal her emotions for her or tell her how to feel — he stands beside her through it. This earns Katara’s forgiveness and deep trust.
needless to say I really REALLY love their friendship, it was handled well, executed well. definitely gave me inspiration.
but a couple?? no. never. nooooooo.
I can see why people ship it, but it's more of the fact that somehow whenever people gush over this ship, they're ALWAYS bashing on Aang, ALWAYS.
there's not a single video essay/rant I've stumbled upon where people give some actual genuine critics about KatAang and somehow they HAVE to drag Zuko into it even when he's not mentioned at ALL.
"Hey I think Katara and Aangs relationship should've been explored more in book three, that kiss should've been talked about more, y'know?"
"good point! good point! you've managed to make your point without hinting towards any racism towards Aang or bashing him and gave a valid criticism!"
"Zuko would never treat Katara like tha-"
plenty of just insane takes from their fandom in general, I'm not one to hate on a ship because of their fandom usually because a pairing ISN'T their fandom, but... come on.
plenty of racist comments towards Aang on his culture and plenty of hate towards Mai who LITERALLY tells the princess of the fire nation, straight to her face, that "she loves Zuko more than she fears her" with swords and fire nation soldiers pointing their spears at her.
you're telling me that MAI. didn't love Zuko? that Zuko deserves better than her? and somehow that person is... Katara??? where did that even come from. where. how. when. why is this about Katara all of the sudden.
Mai who literally got a sudden message by Zuko telling her that it's over between them and despite all that she still CHOSE HIM over her own people? her uncle? her childhood best friend?
